DNV's SCPA Business Area is looking to hire an Product Specialist - Hazardous Location Equipment Services. You will join an exciting team of Prodcut Specialists n the hazardous location equipment certification field, serving a wide range of industries and equipment types. Experienced technical resource for service delivery, competence development, technical sales, and project technical management in the product certification area.

This role is 100% remote within the United Sates.

What You'll Do

Planning and performing assessment tasks, such as:

  • Testing/inspections related to manufacture of hazardous location equipment according to relevant standards and codes.
  • Planning and performing design review of hazardous location equipment and systems for compliance with relevant codes, standards (IEC 60079 series, IEC 6101-1, UL 121201 & other standards, ISO 80079) and customer specifications
  • Planning, implementing, and managing Quality Management System audits in accordance IEC 60079-34
  • Technical support developing certification cost proposals for Ex customers

“DNV provides a reasonable range of compensation for this role. The actual compensation is influenced by a wide array of factors, including but not limited to skill set, level of experience, and specific location. The range of starting pay for this role is $90,000 - $135,000.”

What is Required

  • Extensive knowledge of hazardous location (Ex) product standards, in particular IEC 60079 series, and their application under related IECEx, ATEX and UKCA certification schemes.
  • At least five (5) years of work experience in relevant industrial sector including manufacturing and testing processes
  • Experience with manufacturing environments related to hazardous location equipment experience with IEC 60079-1, -7, -11, -13, -29,
  • Primary technical coordination as project manager between clients and DNV for assigned projects.
  • Assist scheduler with assignment of own Ex projects, with defined goals related to Ex Services.
  • Conduct assessments in accordance DMS procedures and Ex Scheme requirements.
  • Strong written and verbal English communication skills
  • We conduct pre-employment drug and background screening

What is Preferred

  • Bachelor's Degree in Electrical Engineering
  • Experience with IEC 60079-36, -37, IEC 62368-1, UL 121201
  • Experience in product testing laboratory
