This position can be located anywhere in North America but the preferred location is in the South - Southeastern portion of the U.S. .
This position will be responsible for implementation of a strategy for management of process safety, supporting implementation of the PSM programs on a regional basis with a focus on continuous improvement of the program. This position will provide specific guidance on technical matters, collaborate closely with the operations, engineering, and the EH&S organization to manage and execute projects and provide support in a manner that addresses business needs.
DUTIES / RESPONSIBILITIES
Ø Support the implementation of the strategy to drive process safety related risk reduction..
Ø Ensure appropriate execution of regulatory and company compliance initiatives in PSM. Develop, track, and evaluate metrics (both leading and lagging indicators) to identify trends and drive improvement plans in field of expertise.
Ø Manage implementation of company global PSM management and technical standards, including training programs and developing training materials.
Ø Provide support and expertise for completion of risk assessment activities such as Process Hazard Analysis, LOPA, Fault Tree analysis, etc.
Ø Ensure regional consistency on completion of PHAs and develop regional PHA capabilities.
Ø Analyze findings in process safety and near miss incidents to identify common issues and facilitate consistency in recommendations and corrective action globally.
Ø Lead investigation or assign team members to lead investigations for significant process safety incidents.
Ø Assist with the identification of capital that may be required to comply with
Ø PSM/related regulations.
Ø or standards, assist with capital prioritization in the SEPP process.
Ø Ensure systems are in place to verify regulatory compliance with PSM, RMP as applicable in the countries in which the company operates.
Ø Lead or participate in PSM or other regulatory audits.
Ø Monitor developing regulations to provide a proactive approach in addressing such regulations, monitor emerging issues, and evaluate potential impact to the business. Assist with the development of mechanical integrity programs.
Ø Participate in due diligence support to assess PSM risk associated with new acquisitions.
Ø Collaborate with engineering and operations on the development of corporate and business standards/initiatives to address process risks (for example combustible solids, flammables, phenol).
Ø Participate in global teams in support of addressing these issues.
QUALIFICATIONS / REQUIREMENTS
v BS Chemical Engineering or other relevant education
v 3-5 years of EH&S and process safety experience and manufacturing or engineering experience preferred.
v Strong administrative and program management skills.
v Strong technical ability to develop people and provide support to EHS professionals in the field.
v Strong communication skills. Ability to work well on a team and with others. Strong influencing skills.

v Must have good organizational and communication skills.
v Must have a working knowledge of systems and practices in PSM and risk assessment.
v Must be generally familiar with safety, environmental, process safety, engineering, and Industrial Hygiene standards and regulations.
v Must be able to identify and manage risk issues.
v Ability to travel on average 30% of time.
v Must be familiar with Electronic Data Management System for data management.
v 30% Domestic Travel
