This role will be responsible for strategic direction and oversight of the EH&S programs, standards, and work process implementation to ensure the business objectives for safe operation are achieved and the license to operate is maintained.

Ø Full accountability for Safety Standards and EH&S work processes.

Ø Sponsors improvement and optimization of EH&S activities and programs.

Ø Oversees, ensures preparation for, and participates in EH&S related audits.

Ø Implements self-assessments to monitor critical systems (e.g. MOC, permitting, compliance tasks, etc.).

Ø Interfaces with regulatory authorities to ensure compliance and required reporting.

Ø Manages all applicable permits and regulatory registrations for the facility, including submittal of applications for new/modified equipment or projects, requests for permit changes and/or permit renewal applications, product registrations, etc.

Ø Ensures required training for employees is completed and relevant training records and documentation is maintained.

Ø Ensures high-quality indoctrination system for contract workers and visitors is in place.

Ø Determines appropriate retention times and ensures necessary documentation is maintained for all EH&S related records.

Ø Leads follow-up actions and ensures timely completion for regulatory and EH&S related audit findings.

Ø Participates in root cause investigations and corrective actions.

Ø Works with VP to set annual facility EH&S goals and implements plans to achieve those goals.

Ø Engages external EH&S consultants and expertise as needed to obtain interpretations and guidance on specific regulatory processes, laws, regulations, etc.

Ø Sponsors and coaches the plant EH&S team, consisting of members from Operations, Maintenance and Administration to ensure engagement and ownership across the organization.

v Required Qualifications:

§ Bachelor of Science in technical discipline or engineering

§ 5 years EH&S management experience (manufacturing environment)

§ Ability to work independently and have strong communication skills.

§ Process Safety Management experience

v Preferred Qualifications:

§ Certified Safety or Environmental Professional

§ Hazardous Waste and waste minimization experience
