CHANEY ENTERPRISES GROUP is Hiring a Maintenance Operations Assistant Near Waldorf, MD

The Maintenance Operations Assistant provides administrative and purchasing support to the Maintenance Manager.

Essential Functions:

  • Perform a variety of administrative tasks in support of the Maintenance department to include maintaining calendars, scheduling appointments, preparing correspondence, meeting minutes, data entry and file maintenance.
  • Prepare reports, spreadsheets, presentations and other miscellaneous documents or reports upon request.
  • Answer and screen all telephone calls and receive visitors in a courteous, pleasant, and professional manner; handle or transfer calls to the correct party; take clear and accurate messages when necessary. When appropriate, handle telephone calls from inquiry to resolution of the issue presented.
  • Negotiate with vendors and suppliers to obtain price quotes and order parts and materials for plant, truck and equipment repairs.
  • Create purchase orders and add parts to parts catalog as needed.
  • Set up Maintenance equipment rentals as requested.
  • Effectively utilize the TMT inventory system and ensure that parts are maintained at optimum levels at all shops. Reconcile any inventory problems.
  • Interact with company personnel and other business personnel to provide and obtain information for a wide variety of tasks in support of the Maintenance department.
  • Other duties as assigned.

Non-Essential Functions:

  • Fill in for colleagues as needed.
  • Volunteer and participate in company events.

JOB SPECIFICATIONS

Work Environment:

  • Work time will be indoors/office.
  • Noise level will be low.

Physical Demands:

  • Lift a maximum weight of 35 lbs. and carry up to 35 lbs. on occasion.
  • Sit approximately 7 hours per day and walk or stand the other 1 hour per day.

ADDITIONAL QUALIFICATIONS

Experience:

  • General administrative experience (2-year minimum).
  • Experience with purchasing (preferred).

Special Skills:

  • Written communication, verbal communication, and basic mathematical skills.
  • Ability to use a computer, including Microsoft Office with a focus on Word and Excel.
  • Excellent interpersonal skills.
  • Able to exhibit a high level of confidentiality.
