CHA Consulting, Inc. is currently seeking a Traffic & ITS Engineer to join our Traffic ITS Team from Miami, FL.

YOUR IMPACT

CHA’s Traffic and ITS team provides planning, analysis, modeling, and design development for public and private sector clients. Our team of traffic engineers, transportation planners, and technical staff provide a comprehensive breadth of knowledge and experience in all facets of modal mobility, accessibility, safety, technology, and deployment. From roadside sign inventories and safety audits to the latest intelligent transportation system (ITS) innovations and applications, our professionals are adept at managing the entire design development and implementation process.

Working closely with professional engineers, the Traffic & ITS Engineer assists in the design development, implementation, and technical analysis of various systems to implement new products, or changes to an existing scheme, to suit individual client needs. At CHA, our Traffic & ITS Engineer works on multiple projects in a timely and cost-effective manner to meet client, contractual and company requirements.

The Traffic & ITS Engineer aids in preparing technical reports, contract documents and cost estimates for various engineering tasks. The Traffic & ITS Engineer performs simple calculations and engineering design using the standards established by federal, state, and local regulations, as well as the company, group, client, etc. The Traffic & ITS Engineer solve routine problems by applying defined procedures and attends field assignments when appropriate.

REQUIREMENTS

• Bachelor’s Degree in Civil Engineering is required, concentration in Transportation preferred
• EIT certification is preferred
• No prior experience required; however, prior internship(s) and/or applicable coursework preferred
• Knowledge of signal timing, traffic management, and operating a traffic system preferred
• INSA Certification is a plus
• Demonstrates a strong willingness to learn about the respective engineering discipline
• Familiar with engineering, computational, and modeling software (Revit, AutoCAD, MicroStation, etc.)
• Proficiency with Microsoft Office software required
• Desire to work in a collaborative team environment with the willingness to assist mid and senior level engineering and project management staff
• Effective verbal and written communication skills with the ability to adapt communication style to suit various audiences
