POSITION DESCRIPTION

Certis Oncology is seeking an In Vivo Operations Manager to support our growing and dynamic in vivo department. This position will be responsible for executing in vivo oncology rodent studies using immune compromised mice in a BLS2 facility. The candidate will work closely with the in vivo pharmacology team, performing a variety of animal procedures to support internal and client research projects. This position provides an excellent opportunity for growth and advancing the ideal candidate's laboratory animal skills.

JOB RESPONSIBILITIES

• Oversee development and implementation of specialized orthotopic implants on laboratory mice.
• Supervise MRI and BLI imaging to quantify tumor volume data and locate metastasis in situ.
• Manage a team of research associates - overseeing, scheduling, and aiding in the execution of all pharmacology, client, and R&D studies.
• Coach, train and mentor in vivo staff - set goals and expectations. Perform annual performance reviews and determine promotions and merit increases.
• Maintain Project Tracking, time sheets, FTE for in vivo RAs.
• Budgeting of in vivo department, ordering approvals and oversight of inventory.
• Ensure compliance with regulatory and accrediting agencies and institutional policies, assurances, and guidelines, including CLIA, AAALAC, FDA, DEA, USDA regulations.
• Author and/or approve SOPs and train in vivo staff on all department procedures while ensuring compliancy.
• Oversee all husbandry, procedural, and animal welfare related SOPs and ACUPs
• Assess feasibility of potential studies and analyze data with Study Directors and BO.
• Maintain Project Tracking, time sheets, FTE for in vivo RAs.
• Budgeting of in vivo department, ordering approvals and oversight of inventory.
• Responsible for all animal welfare matters and husbandry correspondence.

QUALIFICATIONS

• BS in the biological sciences or a minimum of 7-10 years of in vivo pharmacology experience, with a minimum of 4 years in a managerial role.
• Must have a general understanding of animal welfare regulations and of the importance of ethical use of animals in research.

.. Proficiency in rodent handling: scuffing, body weight, caliper measurements.

• Ability to maintain detailed records of experimental methods.
• Have strong organizational skills for executing multiple projects and deadlines independently.
• Must be detail oriented and able to multi-task.
• Flexibility to work within changing shifts, including weekends, holidays, and evenings to accommodate business needs.
• Ability to use a computer, familiar with Microsoft Word, Excel.
• Excellent oral and written communication skills.
• Skills in dosing animals, tissue collection, and survival surgeries are a plus.

Pay: $100,000.00 - $115,000.00 per year
