Junior Network Engineer

Cepeda Systems and Software Analysis, a rapidly growing small company in Huntsville, AL, is currently seeking a Junior Network Engineer. 

Responsibilities and Duties:

• Document and troubleshoot network and system issues
• Design, deploy, configure, and document network infrastructure including physical/virtual switches, firewalls, wireless networks, IPAMs, and procedures/policies
• Evaluate network systems/services for improvements, assist with the configuration of monitoring tools such as Wireshark
• Provide network monitoring, troubleshooting, and communication support during test events (including Secure VoIP, Secure Chat)
• Plan, deliver, and manage SharePoint capabilities, including general administration and content management
• Up to 10% travel 

Requirements and Qualifications:

• US Citizenship required
• Bachelor’s degree with 1-2 years of relevant experience or HS and 6 years of experience
• Active Secret security clearance
• Must have a current DoD 8570 IAT Level II or higher certification (Security CE, CCNA-Security, CySA , CASP CE, CCNP-Security, CISA, etc.) to start in the position.
• Experience with developing technical documentations, including briefs and presentations.
• Experience with Cisco routing and switching design and configuration.
• Knowledge of TCP/IP, DNS, DHCP, VPN, VLANs, and other network protocols and technologies.
• Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to collaborate effectively with both technical and non-technical stakeholders.
• Ability to work independently, manage multiple tasks, and prioritize effectively in a fast-paced environment.
• Strong attention to detail and commitment to delivering high-quality work.

Preferred Knowledge and Experience: 

• Experience with firewall deployment/management (Palo Alto and/or Cisco ASA) and network management tools (NetScout, Wireshark, ExtraHop, etc)
• Familiarity with Windows, Linux, VMware workstation/server configuration, multicast network configuration, and Cisco Telephony/AV endpoints such as VoIP Phones and VTC Units.
