Description

CentroMotion has an opening for a Finance Director for its Industrial Strategic Business Unit (“SBU”). The Finance Director will provide the finance guidance for the business by leading the financial planning and forecasting activity and coordinating cross functional reporting activities. The Industrial division of CentroMotion generates over $300m of revenue, includes five different brands of products and has global operations (including US, Sweden, Mexico, Brazil and Hungary). The Finance Director is part of the SBU leadership team, and provides finance leadership for the business, serves as a business partner to the Sr Vice President of the Industrial SBU and must collaborate cross functionally with peers in HR, Supply Chain, Operations and Commercial to drive business results.

The Finance Director provides financial analysis to support business improvement initiatives and growth opportunities. The Finance Director is also responsible for the development of finance staff and works closely with operations and supply chain teams to identify and track productivity savings and manage working capital and investments. This individual participates in monthly sales and operations planning (S&OP) meetings, is responsible for the integrity of the accounting systems and internal control environment and collaborates with the product line and commercial teams regarding customer pricing, margin reviews and contracts. 

This role must be a change agent, self-motivated, have strong problem-solving skills and the ability to manage several projects simultaneously, while being detail oriented and involved in the business and global operations. 

Responsibilities:

  • Direct the preparation of SBU monthly financial results, including review of brand financials. Lead the analysis of key financial trends and variances to budget and prior year. Be able to analyze situations/opportunities accurately and quickly, cost trends and gross margin results.
  • Be able to explain monthly financial results (understanding key drivers and adjustments) and present to corporate and SBU leaders the risks & opportunities as well as corrective actions, as required.
  • Lead the SBU annual operating plan process, critically review weekly/quarterly financial outlooks and oversight in monthly cash forecasting process.
  • Full ownership of SBU balance sheet and income statement, ensuring compliance with finance policies and procedures and US GAAP. 
  • Work collaboratively with corporate functional departments related to legal matters, treasury management, technical accounting matters, income taxes & transfer pricing, employee benefits etc.
  • Provide guidance to business unit controllers related to accounting matters (especially cost accounting).
  • Drive standardization of finance processes, foster a team environment and develop finance staff.
  • Design and implement improvements in financial processes to meet continuous improvement initiatives and best practices.
  • Prepare financial models for the executive team, while also maximizing target financial results and quality of earnings.
  • Analyze near and long-term market data, competitive trends and utilize the information to maintain accurate forecasting guidance.
  • Work closely with the SBU leadership team and CFO to understand business conditions, drive ownership, actions, and accountability in the organization in an effort to achieve financial results.
  • Provide financial advice on key customer quotes/opportunities and coordinate contract reviews and legal matters with legal counsel. 
  • Collaborate with the operations team regarding investments (headcount and capex), material receipts and inventory levels, quality matters. Participate in other projects related to cost down initiatives, production transfers, manufacturing spend and operational improvements.
  • Support global supply chain team in efforts to track and reduce material costs, critically review purchase price variances (PPV) and support vendor discussions.
  • Work with HR team in cascading communication of incentives, determination of sales incentives targets, benefit costs and headcount need of the business.
  • Optimize cash flow, establish inventory targets with S&OP teams, coordinate accounts receivable activities with shared service center and approve capital requests.

Requirements

Education: 

  • A bachelor’s degree in accounting is required, with a minimum of 15 years’ experience in progressive finance roles. Candidate must have 5 years of regional or divisional financial oversight of multiple facilities in a manufacturing company.

Experience and/or Training

  • The successful candidate will be a highly motivated team player with excellent interpersonal, analytical and problem-solving skills.
  • Excellent organizational skills, with the ability to analyze a situation quickly and accurately and arrive at an effective fact-based decision or solution. Pragmatic approach with the ability to establish priorities.
  • Strong finance and business acumen, attention to detail and writing of commentary and analytical summaries is required. 
  • Must be a visionary, have a customer focused approach and commercial awareness.
  • Must be able to develop an understanding of corporate strategy and help translate it into actionable plans and transactions, operating both independently and as part of a highly focused, inter-disciplinary deal team.
  • Exposure to acquisition, due diligence, and integration.
  • Inspires and motivates all stakeholders and direct reports while constantly displaying integrity and respect.
  • Able to adjust to changing priorities-- ability to prioritize work and meet deadlines.
  • Self-motivated and proactive, both with respect to managing workload and own professional development—strong work ethic.

Travel Requirements:

  • Ability to travel (<5%) as required to support the business and finance activities.

Technology/Equipment: 

  • Proficiency in the use of technology including thorough understanding of ERP systems, Hyperion HFM and Microsoft Excel.
