Position: Summer Operations Assistant

Reports to: Education Director & Education Staff

Dates/Hours: Staff Training: July 1-2 Mon-Tues, 8:30am – 3:30pm

Classroom Prep: July 8 - July 11 Mon-Thur, 8:30am – 3:30pm

Camp dates: July 15 – Aug 8 Mon-Thur, 8:00am – 3:30pm

FLSA Status: Independent Contractor

Compensation: $25/hr

POSITION DESCRIPTION

Centro Cultural is seeking a Summer Operations Assistant who is committed to ensuring the smooth operation of our Summer STEAM program while providing logistical support and assisting staff members as needed.

PRIMARY RESPONSIBILITIES

• Clear communication with students, parents, and program staff
• Assist program staff with daily activity logistics, including gathering materials, set up, and clean up
• Chaperone students (ex. the classroom, recess, and field trips)
• Manage attendance and meal headcount tracking
• Oversee the implementation of program components
• Track inventory and ensure quality control for equipment
• Assist in pre and post-assessment of students
• Perform additional duties as assigned

• At least 21 years old
• Previous experience working with youth in an educational or mentoring setting
• Ability to communicate effectively with youth, parents, and program staff
• Strong interpersonal skills and ability to build positive relationships with youth
• Knowledge of child development and experience working with diverse populations
• Experience with program planning and implementation
• Passion for working with youth and promoting their personal growth and development
• Must be able to lift at least 35lbs
• Bilingual (English/Spanish) preferred

Job Types: Contract, Temporary

Pay: $25.00 per hour

Expected hours: 16 – 32 per week

Schedule:

• 8 hour shift
• Monday to Friday
• Weekends as needed

Experience:

• Program Planning: 1 year (Preferred)
• Working with youth: 1 year (Preferred)

Ability to Relocate:
