CENTRO CULTURAL BACKGROUND
Founded in 1972 by migrant farmworkers, Centro Cultural del Condado de Washington (Centro) is a community institution for gathering, culture and community building. Today Centro serves as a hub for: arts and cultural events; economic empowerment for families; for community advocacy; supportive housing and stabilization; comprehensive food security services; public health initiatives; senior health and wellness; and year-round K-12 STEAM pathways. Our programs and services continue to evolve to meet the needs of our communities, removing barriers to health, well-being, and economic mobility to achieve prosperity and self-determination.
POSITION DESCRIPTION
Grants are fundamental to Centro’s operations and programs. Grants enable Centro to build, sustain and scale important services to serve more people and more areas with innovative ideas. The Centro grants team plays a cross functional and collaborative role in securing funds that sustain the organization’s presence, programs and services in the community. As Centro has grown significantly over the last few years, so has the grants function and the number of proposals that the team oversees, tracks, writes, and submits. We are looking to expand the grants team in order to adequately manage the grants process at Centro and support with grant writing, and ultimately winning proposals.
At Centro, our grant application management and process begins with prospecting foundations and grant opportunities to support our programs, creating materials to communicate vital grant information with the leadership team to evaluate viability and a possible implementation plan, ensuring appropriate project management communication, and customer service throughout the grant writing process, and managing post-award communications internally and externally.
The Grants Coordinator will work closely with Centro’s Development Manager and Development Director to support various tasks along the grant process, supporting the development and submission of new proposals; the grant management database, pipeline, and reporting schedule.
