NOTICE OF VACANCY

POSITION: English Language Learner Teacher (K-12)

REPORTS TO: Elementary and Jr/Sr School Principals

STARTING DATE: August 2024

NECESSARY QUALIFICATIONS:

• Valid Michigan Teachers' Certificate.
• Highly Qualified as defined by the Michigan Department of Education.
• Graduate of a recognized college or university.
• Ability to qualify for an English as a Second Language Endorsement (NS).

DESIRABLE QUALIFICATIONS:

• Knowledge and confidence in teaching English language skills.
• Knowledge of Common Core State Standards, including understanding the depth of student knowledge, strategies, and mastery of skills for ELL students of all ages.
• Knowledge of language curriculum and interventions.
• Ability to work collaboratively with building teams (Title 1, grade-level, special education).
• Knowledge of administering and interpreting assessments (state and local assessments, NWEA, Acadience, WIDA, etc.) to tailor teaching for individual students.
• Experience in identifying students for MTSS, as well as, designing instruction for remediation, reinforcement, and enrichment.
• Knowledge and experience in highly effective, research-based instructional strategies.
• Positive team member throughout the building and district.

DUTIES:

• Provide instructional support services to students identified as eligible for language support services.
• Other duties as assigned.

SALARY: As per contract.
