IT Support TechJob description We are seeking a hands-on IT Support Technician. The ideal candidate must be safety conscious, energetic, detail oriented with strong follow-up skills and self-motivated. General Purpose of the Position:As a member of the Direct Customer Support / Helpdesk Team, the IT Support Technician will provide assistance with the maintenance, functionality and efficiency of IT Systems across all Central Wire locations, including desktop computers, printers, scanners, application software and other peripherals. He or she may also be required to assist with IT projects and strategic planning, as well as identifying, maintaining, tracking, and deploying various technologies. Other duties will be assigned as necessary.Essential Duties and Responsibilities:Support 500 users in an international multi-site environment, in a timely and professional manner Provides help desk call and email resolution by answering IT calls and checking the IT email queue Tracks all tickets with accurate and thorough information into established IT customer support call tracking software Documents, tracks, and monitors the problem to ensure a timely resolution Assists customers in the use of IT systems and troubleshoots problems before assigning or escalating them to the Enterprise Software or Security and Infrastructure Support groups Using established procedures and with guidance from both the Enterprise Software and Security and Infrastructure teams performs configurations, installations, and updates to desktops, laptops, office printers/copiers, phone systems, software applications, and other production systems as needed Effectively communicate technical issues, helpdesk ticket flows, and project execution with other members of the support team Maintain department information databases, including licensing, hardware, network configurations, and knowledge base articles Create Knowledge base articles where appropriate to assist others with repeat fixes and builds Assists both Enterprise Software and Security and Infrastructure teams to support maintenance of ID and passwords for all CWI systems Participates in New Employee Orientation for IT training Maintains IT hardware stock levels and bench area in accordance with established IT guidelines Assist in IT projects and other related duties as required From time to time may be required to travel to other CWI locations to provide IT support as deemed necessary by management. Position Requirements:1 - 3 years IT support/helpdesk experience preferred Experience in a customer service and / or systems support role a plus Strong analytical troubleshooting skills Organized and detail oriented Understanding of Windows operating systems installation and configuration, Active Directory/Windows domains Experience with Microsoft Office 2019/365 Suite Experience with PC hardware build and repair Knowledge of TCP/IP networking protocols Knowledge of cybersecurity fundamentals Interpersonal Skills and Competencies: · Approachability: Puts others at ease by listening, allowing adequate time for interactions, and giving undivided attention. Demonstrates trust and respect for others.· Technical Skills: Demonstrates the knowledge and abilities necessary to perform required job element to established standards. Ability to acquire new skills and willingness to learn new technologies Physical Requirements/Working Conditions:Frequent sitting, occasional standing and walking, working in confined spaces Ability to lift heavy equipment up to 30 lbs.Ability to work evenings and/or weekends for systems patching, upgrades, installationsOccasional travel when requiredCompensationSalary is commensurate with experience.
