Central Valley Health Network is Hiring a Workforce Development Director Near Fresno, CA

Overview:

Central Valley Health Network is a regional consortium representing 16 Federally Qualified Health Centers (FQHCs) across the Central Valley and Sacramento area. We support our member FQHCs in their delivery of high-quality patient care by providing a range of services, including advocacy, training, resource development, program administration, and technical assistance.

We are seeking a dedicated and experienced Workforce Development Director to join our team. Under the direction of the CVHN Chief Strategy Officer (CSO), the Director, Workforce Development, is primarily responsible for the development, implementation, and management of CVHN's efforts to provide resources and support to recruit, train, and retain a quality, skilled and competent health professions workforce within our member community health centers/clinics. Key areas of responsibility are serving as the Center Director and managing activities for the Central Valley Area Health Education Center (AHEC), a federally supported health professions program, connecting clinics to workforce development options and advancing CVHN’s workforce development agenda. Additional activities include coordinating member trainings and activities including learning sessions, assisting in the preparation of CVHN communications and supporting the maintenance of the CVHN web site as well as providing staff support in meeting grant and strategic plan objectives.

Duties:

Area Health Education Center (AHEC) Director:

- Coordinate the design, implementation, and evaluation of health professions service-learning activities in collaboration with CSO and Workforce Development Director (NHC), e.g., through linkages for CVHN and its partner health centers/clinics with medical residency programs, medical schools, nursing schools, and other academic training programs.

- Coordinate the design, implementation, and evaluation of continuing education activities for staff of partner health centers/clinics in accordance with AHEC priorities and contract deliverables.

- Manage Central Valley AHEC's grant and budget

- Supervise the development and maintenance of data documentation, collection, analysis and reporting mechanisms and protocols for AHEC activities; prepares and submits data and narrative progress reports on a quarterly basis

- Manage the AHEC Scholars program through recruitment of academic partners and recruiting, enrolling, onboarding, and supporting scholars to complete all program didactic and experiential requirements.

Other Workforce Development Activities:

- Work with CVHN CSO and other leadership in the development and execution of long- and short-range CVHN-based workforce development plans and initiatives.

- Work with Central California National Health Corps Program Director to support Public Health Leadership (PHL) and Community Health Fellow (CHF) in workforce related plans and sustainability of NHC in member clinics.

- Work with CVHN member clinic Human Resources, Clinic management and other leadership to determine how to best support clinics’ recruitment, retention, and other workforce development needs.

- In partnership with community partners, local school districts and member health centers, coordinate CVHN workforce pipeline programs to provide work-based learning and career exploration opportunities for students in the Central Valley region and expose them to health careers through the coordination of Growing Health Leaders conferences each year.

- Coordinate CVHN communications including assistance in the maintenance of the CVHN website job board.

Justice Equity Diversity and Inclusion (JEDI) Activities:

- Manage and oversee the JEDI efforts for the organization

- Attend JEDI trainings for professional development (as budget allows)

Qualifications:

- Bachelor's degree in a related field; Master's degree preferred or equivalent work experience in related field
- Minimum five years’ experience in program management or administration.

- Minimum three years supervisory experience.

- Experience with training design and implementation.

- Experience working within a multi-site agency preferred.

- Familiarity with and commitment to working with racially, ethnically, and culturally diverse communities.

- Some exposure to, and familiarity with, nonprofit organizations; experience with federally qualified health centers a plus.

- Excellent interpersonal skills; demonstrated ability to communicate verbally and in writing, including communication with diverse groups.

- Demonstrated ability to work effectively as a member of a team.

- Basic working knowledge of personal computers and word processing, spreadsheet, and data base software applications.

- Excellent oral and written communication skills in English

- Ability to learn new programs and applications.

- Ability to work confidentially and with discretion.

- Ability to plan independently, organize work, multi-task and meet deadlines

- Ability to analyze situations accurately and adopt a corrective course of action

- Interpersonal skills using good judgment, patience and courtesy

Job Type: Full-time

Pay: $69,000.00 - $81,404.10 per year
