As the Manager of ER Veterinary in Round Rock at CTVSEH, you will play a pivotal role in overseeing and enhancing the emergency veterinarian doctors at Round Rock. This position involves coordination, communication, and planning to ensure the success and growth of the mentorship program.

The Manager of ER Veterinarian in Round Rock should genuinely care about the professional fulfillment of the veterinarians in Round Rock and all who work for CTVSEH. The doctors under them will include all CTVSEH ER veterinarians. They work to give the doctors clear expectations, communicate their concerns to the CTVSEH Senior Leadership Team and work to improve leveraging systems to maximize doctor performance, quality of life and engagement. This also includes active recruitment and candidate selection maximizing CTVSEH services, schedule coverage and collaboration. The manager of the EC doctors at Round Rock will work closely with the Medical Director.

    • PATIENT, CLIENT AND REFERRAL COMMUNITY CARE WITH STANDARD OF CARE ACROSS SPECIALTIES UPHELD AND CONSISTENT
    This person should have a true love of primary patient care that is contagious to the staff and doctors around them. They are to work to encourage collaboration within and between specialties as well as ensure the doctors and staff have appropriate equipment to uphold our standard of care as defined by our training and experience.
    • DEPARTMENT MAINTENANCE AND DEVELOPMENT:
    Collaborate with the medical director to identify department goals, objectives, and success metrics.
    Regularly assess and update program content to meet the evolving needs of ER veterinarians in Round Rock.
    • RECRUITING AND ONBOARDING:
    Recruit and select qualified veterinarians from the veterinary community that naturally exhibit CTVSEH core values.
    Facilitate doctor onboarding and training sessions to ensure alignment with hospital goals and standards.
    Work with the EC schedule maker to balance departmental needs while maximizing each doctor’s life balance needs
    • MONITORING AND EVALUATION:
    Along with the medical director, establish a system for ongoing evaluation of ER veterinarians.
    Identify areas for improvement and implement enhancements to optimize the emergency veterinarian experience.

      • Veterinary licensure in the state of Texas with 3yrs experience in small animal emergency or referral medicine following training.

      REQUIRED SKILLS AND QUALIFICATIONS

      • Veterinary licensure in the state of Texas with 3yrs experience in small animal emergency or referral medicine following training.

      DIRECT SUPERVISOR
      CTVSEH Medical Director
      Meetings: Be present unless you are on vacation.
      1. CTVSEH EC Department meetings - attend as requested by the medical director/department lead.
      2. Medical Director meeting
      3. State of the Company Address (SOCA): this is a mandatory all staff meeting held 2-3x/year to update the entire hospital on current hospital wide plans and upcoming changes. It will be announced before the event and is generally scheduled on a week day.
      3. Doctor meetings
      Teaching Responsibilities
      A. Participate actively in doctor supervision
      B. Host veterinary student externs through the emergency department in a welcoming atmosphere to encourage a positive teaching environment and sow seeds of recruiting for future veterinarians.
      C. Participate actively in clinical teaching, being available for case/diagnostic review to fellow doctors. Support an academic environment of clinical medicine teaching/encouraging evidence based medicine.
      D.. Work with other specialists and doctors in the hospital to encourage staff learning at all times. "Teach and help rather than judge".
      ADDITIONAL DUTIES
      1. Primary case management. Approximately 90% of this individual's time is spent as a doctor on the floor. The scale depends on personal balance with an element of choice as long as the floor is covered. The ability to leverage oneself and multi-task in order to complete both primary case responsibilities and administrative duties is required.
      2. Responsibility to CVTSEH policies, procedures and company goals
      • Work towards the hospital goal of “followed by all” in that all hospital policies, protocols, and procedures are followed by all CTVSEH team members. To achieve this goal all team members are required to:
      • Work closely with management teams to ensure hospital protocols make sense, ensure efficient flow, incorporate team members’ input and are easily accessible to all staff at all times.
      2. Lead by example with constant diligence to following protocol.
      3. Maintain knowledge of current hospital protocols and procedures.
      4. Direct staff and doctors to written protocols when looked to for guidance.
      B. Company Goals: Help create and be aware of yearly, 3 year and 10 year CTVSEH company goals as outlined on the company VTO.
