Day-to-Day

Your main role will be performing and preparing for internal bank audits in accordance with the bank's compliance and regulatory standards and at the direction and oversight of the Audit Director. However, each day may look different as you will also seek to:

Prioritize audit work and complete audits assigned utilizing electronic formatting, resources and tools available including but not limited to: Microsoft Office, Vertex, Synergy, Xperience, COGNOS Analytics, and/or adjusting as needed to ensure the timely completion of audits.
Forecast, evaluate, observe, summarize and apply critical analytical skills in the audit examination process. Using those predictive skills recommend well researched alternative solutions that timely and practically reflect an awareness of impact.
Demonstrate expertise and understanding of established policies, practices, laws and regulations and an ability to apply and identify areas of non-compliance and formulate corrective recommendations and solutions
Professionally and collectively organize all media files to include electronic, paper, and correspondence files so that information can be readily accessed and timely retrieved when requested
Organize and prepare audit work-papers in accordance with established guidelines to include source, purpose and summary categories; and to include sufficient supportive detail necessary to substantiate comments and conclusions pertaining to the audit.
Coordinate with and assist external audit firms, consultants and regulatory examiners as needed to help in ensuring an achievement score of 2 or better in the internal audit category of the OCC regulatory examination.
Track and be receptive to the changing compliance and regulatory environments that then translates to changing operational needs for the bank and maintaining ongoing flexibility in both the audit and work calendars/schedules.
Provide consultation services to management as requested for improvement of internal controls.
Be adaptive to travel in attending committee meetings, conducting on-site branch audits and in accomplishing professional educational and training enhancements.
Become certified within three years of hire in applicable audit certifications.
Other responsibilities as assigned by management.

Experience:
You may be wondering what we are looking for in a candidate. Well, candidates should hold a college degree (BS or BA in a relevant field) and possess or demonstrate a willingness to achieve the appropriate audit certification along with three to five years of similar or related experience. A knowledge in audit and accounting principles is needed for this position. A proficiency in Microsoft Office Products, Vertex, Synergy, and Xperience is also beneficial along with mortgage banking and compliance experience. Some travel will be required to perform job functions as well as for certification/ training purposes.
