Security Benefit is searching for a Staff Auditor with proven experience to join our team. This position will work in our home office in Topeka, Kansas or our Overland Park, Kansas office. What Does the Job Look Like? Staff Auditor, Internal Controls will be responsible for assisting in the evaluation of the company’s internal controls over financial reporting (ICFR) across the company, collaborating with internal and external auditors to ensure that the audits of the company’s controls and financial statements go smoothly. Position will report to Manager, Internal Controls. Responsibilities:Assist in the assessment and review of the adequacy of control design and operating effectiveness.Plan and conduct walk-throughs of processes on a routine basis and ensure the documentation accurately reflects the processes and supporting controls.Work with the process owners to ensure process and control documentation is continuously updated to reflect process improvements and control optimization, communicating changes to department managers for further consideration.Clearly and concisely communicate findings and recommendations to department managers. Recommend internal control process enhancements to department managers.Provide ad-hoc reporting and analytics or special projects as requested by manager and leadership team.Who Are You?Beyond experience, the right personal style and leadership competencies are critical to success as the Staff Auditor, Internal Controls.
