Full Time
25 Per Hour Starting Pay
General Purpose: To provide child development support to chemically dependent women and their children as part of a team of treatment providers in a day care habilitative program.
Child Development Support
Treats clients and prospective clients with professionalism and courtesy at all times.
Assists in the supervision of volunteer childcare workers in the Daycare Room as needed.
Provides child development support, meal preparation, and housekeeping duties.
Assists the Perinatal Program Coordinator with office duties, as needed.
Knowledge of nutritional needs of women in early recovery and the ability to prepare healthy, delicious, nutritious entrees and snacks.
Safety
Maintains safety regulations in the Daycare room.
Sterilize toys, cups, lids, and bottles daily.
Maintain cleanliness of children in the day care room.
Time & Accountability
Maintains good attendance and punctuality.
Follows through on activities and responsibilities.
On call as needed to fill in for absent staff members.
Assures all license and certification requirements are current.
Communication & Teamwork
Maintains and enforces agency rules and policies regarding clients and their children.
Coordinates food service for children and clients meals including inventory of food items and related stock.
Maintains productive work relationships with clients, co-workers, management, external agencies and the public.
Maintains appropriate professional boundaries with clients and staff.
POSITION QUALIFICATIONS:
Appropriate licensing, certification and training to provide child development support to mothers and their children.
Maintains current license/certification and supporting CEU’s as required.
Possess good written and verbal communication skills.
Ability to maintain productive work relationships with clients, employees, management, external agencies and the public.
Establishes and maintains appropriate boundaries with clients and staff as outlined in DAAC’s Professional Code of Conduct
Positively represents the program/organization in the community.
Responds promptly and courteously to phone calls and email requests for information.
Ability to use effective judgment in crisis situations.
Ability to recognize and manage personal bias.
Ability to solve problems sand resolve conflicts effectively.
Maintains current CPR and First Aid certification.
Ability to maintain own psychological well being.

  • Ability to speak English and maintain a clear, understandable speaking voice, capable of communicating vital business information to internal and external contacts.

  • Ability to remain seating for extended periods of time. Job duties of this position are performed from a seated position.
  • Maintain sufficient digital manipulation skills necessary to utilize a computer keyboard.
  • Sufficient body dexterity to bend, stoop and reach for children, educational materials, or equipment.
  • Ability to effectively communicate with management and co-workers by telephone and/or in person.
  • Ability to function effectively within a busy environment.
  • Availability for working evenings and/or weekends.
  • Ability to meet all physical and mental requirements necessary to obtain a Class B California Driver’s License.
  • Ability to work split shifts when necessary
