Center for Workforce Inclusion is Hiring an Administrative Professional (Program Specialist) - SEE Program Near Washington, DC

The Center for Workforce Inclusion is recruiting for a Administrative Professional position within the Senior Environmental Employment (SEE) Program through a grant administered program which provides support to the U.S. Environmental Protection Agency (EPA) in Washington, DC. Successful candidates must meet the age criteria of being 55 years of age or older and eligible to work in the United States. Selected candidates will also be required to undergo a federal security background check. 

Role and Responsibilities: Perform technical, analytical and administrative support duties and functions that promote the effective operations of the Office of Human Capital Operations and assist Office Director and Deputy Office Director in administrative management. Assist with carrying out special projects as assigned and with coordinating administrative operations and actions. Requires strong skills in leveraging technology and independent work ability to research, evaluate and develop products to communicate data collection, correspondence, and support requests.

Duties include:

  • Schedule key meetings for the Office Director and Deputy Director and/or other OHCO staff. Manage Office Director and Deputy Office Director's calendar and meetings and resolve conflicts.
  • Conduct independent work in data collection, analysis and leverage technology to support product development in a broad array of projects and queries and other data collection efforts to support Office functions and activities.
  • Manage, evaluate, filter and distill received Office information and requests and direct to responsible Division or require Office Director or Deputy Office Director attention
  • Prepare, review, and edit Office correspondence and official documents IAW records management procedures.
  • Advise Office leadership on recommended priorities and action item suspenses.
  • Maintain knowledge of Office major functions and roles performed by the Divisions to allow technical support and assistance on large-scale or special projects.
  • Develop travel plans, schedules and make travel arrangements and reservations.
  • Other duties as assigned.

Qualifications and Education Requirements: Successful candidates must meet the age criteria of being 55 years of age or older and eligible to work in the United States; able to pass a Federal Background check; BA/BS or 10 years’ experience administrative, operations and program analysis and other related field. Candidates should possess demonstrated ability to organize, manage; multi-task, advise staff on all levels; Self-starters with strong customer relations and demonstrated ability to work independently and well as in a team environment. Competent computer skills and Microsoft Office Suite knowledge (Word, Excel, PowerPoint, SharePoint, Outlook & Teams, excellent oral and written communication skills.

Hours & Compensation: Full-Time position working 40 hours per week, $19.21 per hour plus benefits including paid health insurance and generous vacation, sick and holidays.

Older Americans Act of 1965 / Title V COMMUNITY SERVICE EMPLOYMENT / Part-time public service and private sector jobs for unemployed, experienced and/or low-income persons age 55 and older are created through Title V of the Older Americans Act.
