Headquartered in Phoenix, AZ, the Center for the Rights of Abused Children (The Center) is a national nonprofit that has impacted the lives of over 650,000 children nationwide and strives every day to protect children, change laws, and inspire people to ensure every abused child has a bright future. Founded by Darcy Olsen in 2017 upon the simple principle that every child deserves a safe and loving home, as well as a brighter future, The Center offers free emergency legal advice and representation through their pro bono Children’s Law Clinic by providing direct services for the benefit of abused, neglected, and trafficked children, and those in foster care. The Center also advocates for common sense state-wide legislative reforms to protect children’s constitutional rights to legal counsel and to preserve Social Security benefits of children in foster care. Additionally, The Center advocates on a national level to ensure the establishment of a federal, constitutionally recognized mechanism for protecting the basic rights of America’s most vulnerable children.
