Center for Disability Services is Hiring a Medical Records Specialist Near Albany, NY

The Center for Disability Services offers hope, innovation and achievement to the people we support.
For 80 years, we have been one of upstate New York’s largest providers of programs and services for individuals who have disabilities. Many of the innovative programs and vital services that we offer are not available elsewhere.

We are looking for a full time Medical Records Specialist to become part of our Clinical Department.Responsibilities:

Responsible for the organization of residents’ medical records including the proper filing, storing and retrieval per accepted standards of practice. Files pertinent medical information into the active medical record of all residents. Routinely thins residents’ medical records per facility guidelines. Files thinned medical records, and maintains those files in an orderly fashion. Retrieves and/or copies medical records as requested. Provides phone coverage for the facility reception area as requested.

Requirements:

  • Position requires routine lifting, bending, pushing, pulling in the course of handling files and supplies, etc. up to 15 – 25 lbs.
  • High School diploma or equivalent required.

Compensation for this position is $17.06-$19.19 an hour based on experience. 

Experience Preferred:
  • At least 2 years of job related experience, specifically in Medical Records
