Essential Duties and Responsibilities:
This position is responsible for the safety of all persons through safe food handling and storage, clearing all hazards, and securing the facility entrances and its monitoring systems. They work closely with the Director of Operations, Facilities Manager, Security, and contracted food services. The Assistant will be expected to:
· Prep, serve, clear, and clean up after all meals.
· Coordinate with catering services to schedule, receive, and document all meals served.
· Immediately seek to know of any students with allergies and know the required treatment for that student.
· Comply with all aspects of facility and food handling safety as prescribed by the Palm Beach County Department of Health especially as it relates to food prep, service, and storage.
· Assume responsibility for compliance with all inspections.
· Maintain accurate reporting information as required by the Department of Agriculture as it pertains to the National School Lunch Program
· Complete all annual training and continuing education as required by the Department of Agriculture and the Palm Beach County Health Department
· Assist with routine housekeeping, including sanitizing surfaces, light cleaning when needed, quickly and safely mopping up spills and hazards, and monitor restrooms for safety, cleanliness, and Health Department compliance as needed.
· Assist with set up and breakdown for Professional Development workshops and other events and meetings within the facility.
· Inventory, restock and maintain cleaning and serving supplies and inform the Facilities Manager as items need purchased.
· Always be customer service oriented and respectful of students and guests. Understand that some younger students and students with unique abilities MAY require extra help at times.
· Understand the student discipline policy of the school and always comply.
· Participate in CCE-directed professional development opportunities and staff meetings, when applicable.
· Arrive promptly, professionally attired, and prepared to work. Have professional personal presentation including good hygiene, professional dress, and friendly attitude.
· Abide by all Policies and Procedures as established by CCE and delineated in the employee handbook.
· Meet with The Foundations School and CCE staff as necessary to maintain high-quality services.
· Demonstrate reliability, dependability, and consistency.
· Assist CCE and its administrative tasks with other duties as assigned.
Education and/or Work Experience Requirements:
● Relevant experience in Food and/or Housekeeping Services preferred
● High school diploma or GED.
● Food Handler’s certification required
● Child Abuse and Neglect Reporting Certification required.
● Child CPR and First Aid Certification preferred.
● Must successfully pass Level II background check and cleared through Everify with Homeland Security.
Physical Requirements:
● Ability to safely and successfully perform the essential job functions consistent with the ADA, FMLA, and other federal, state, and local standards, including meeting qualitative and/or quantitative productivity standards.
● Ability to maintain regular, punctual attendance consistent with the ADA, FMLA, and other federal, state, and local standards.
● Reliable transportation.
● Ability to lift at least 25 pounds.
