Job Title: Veterinary Receptionist

Job Description:
As the first point of contact for our clients and their pets, the Veterinary Receptionist plays a crucial role in creating a positive and welcoming experience. This position requires exceptional multitasking abilities, a friendly and professional demeanor, and the capability to handle various responsibilities simultaneously.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Greet clients and their pets warmly, making them feel welcome and comfortable.
  • Provide excellent customer service, including answering multi-line phones, emails, and text messages while efficiently triaging inquiries.
  • Schedule appointments and maintain organized patient records using Avimark.
  • Handle invoicing, check-out procedures, and payment transactions with accuracy.

Qualifications:

  • 1 year of Veterinary Reception/Assistant experience required.
  • High school diploma or equivalent.
  • Completion of a Veterinary Assisting Certification preferred.
  • Strong computer skills, with basic knowledge of Avimark considered a plus.
  • Ability to multitask and prioritize tasks effectively.
  • Ability to perform basic math, including making change.
  • Excellent communication skills, written and verbal, with clients and internal team members.
  • Capacity to work in a fast-paced environment with frequent interruptions.
  • Physical ability to lift up to 30 lbs. unaided.
  • Ability to stand or walk for most of the day.

Receptionist Shifts:

  • Monday – Friday: 7:30 am – 6 pm
  • Saturday: 7:30 am – 12 pm
  • 35-40 hours per week.

Compensation and Benefits:

  • $16-19 per hour, dependent on experience.
  • Full insurance benefits, including health and dental.
  • Paid time off (PTO) and sick time.

Work Environment:

  • Exposure to smells and noise from barking dogs and machinery.
  • Possibility of being bitten or scratched.
  • Zoonotic risk handling animal fluids.
  • Exposure to various risks, including gas anesthesia, radiation, drugs, and chemicals used in a hospital setting under OSHA.
  • Compassion fatigue.

Job Type: Full-time

Pay: $16.00 - $18.00 per hour
