Census is Hiring a Remote Technical Product Manager

About Census 🔁

Census is the first Data Activation platform built on your warehouse. Sync 360° customer data to 200 business tools today with Reverse ETL. Empower marketing teams to build dynamic audiences with a no-code segment builder.

Census is how data teams at companies like Canva, Figma, Rippling, Carta, and Notion build better business operations.

Backed by a16z , Sequoia, Tiger Global & Insight; we're a hybrid team headquartered in San Francisco that loves taking annoying problems most people avoid and building elegant solutions for them. We believe that data should be used for more than just making charts. This is why we invented integrations that work directly from cloud data warehouses.

Your Mission ⚡

We strongly believe in solving hard technical problems with elegant product solutions designed for real people and we want you to help us build something that is not only valuable but that can also delight.

You'll be working closely with the founders and the connector engineering organization to create simple to use, powerful integrations that will set the bar for how the industry views the emerging category of "Reverse ETL".

We're a young, fast growing startup so in addition to direct product development, you will have the opportunity to define our product development process and culture. If you're looking for a role where you can get into the weeds on product experience and company culture, read on.

What You Will Be Doing 🎨

You will have direct & significant impact on our product and company's future. Some of your responsibilities include:

  • Take ambiguous and highly technical customer feedback and help the team distill into product direction.

  • Work with customers and executives to lay out the integration roadmap including the core services and capabilities we will offer as our product grows.

  • Lead a cross-functional team of designers, engineers, marketing and partnerships to share the success stories of our customers and partners with the world.

  • Work closely with founders and leadership to set the product strategy for Census as well as the wider data ecosystem.

Is This You? 👇

We are looking for talented people who enjoy the ambiguity of early-stage startups, wearing many hats and taking this opportunity to develop their skills. It would be great if you:

  • 3 years of experience delivering highly successful and innovative software products.

  • Experience working directly with APIs, understanding their functionality and limitations.

  • Proven ability to work directly with Engineering and Design teams to prioritize and execute on bold product vision.

  • Strong written and verbal communication ability to influence and drive strategy.

  • Love talking to technical users to understand their pain and make the product better.

  • Want to help build a strong culture at a young startup.

  • Work from the SF office two days a week

Bonus Points

  • Product management experience related to data and/or data infrastructure.

  • Any hands-on experience working with partnerships

Compensation 💰

$160,000-$210,000

Our Benefits 🏆

  • Meaningful equity (we mean it!). We’re going to ask you to work hard and build an amazing company, so we are going to pay you well while we build, and set our sights on your equity having real value.

  • We want you to take care of yourself so your medical, dental, and vision plans are heavily subsidized. 99% employer-paid medical coverage for you AND your dependents 🤯 (US).

  • 401k with 4% match — investing in your future can be expensive so we want to help (US & Canadian).

  • Flexible work schedule & unlimited PTO.

  • 12 weeks of fully paid parental leave. Growing family? Amazing! Congratulations. You and our founders have something in common.

  • Offices in three cities, San Francisco, Denver & New York commuter benefits

  • Annual All-Hands Offsite - hangout with your work-friends and make some memories!

  • All the tools you need to do your best work.

We believe the best companies bring together diversity in race, age, physical and mental ability, sexuality, gender identity, ethnicity, perspectives, and ideas. People do their best work when they feel like they are included, valued, and equal — when they feel like they belong. The Census we are building is a place where everyone brings their full selves to work knowing that they’ll be heard, championed, and supported to succeed.
