CenClear, a provider of Family Based Mental Health (FBMH) services, is seeking an individual to join the team as a Clinical Supervisor. The goal of our program is to keep families together by promoting family unity and working towards reducing out-of-home placement. Help keep families together!

Hours

  • This is a full-time position.
  • 40 hours per week, 52 weeks per year

Work Location:

1 position based at our MH/SUD outpatient facility located in Philipsburg, PA. This position requires travel to other MH/SUD offices and to the homes within the counties served as needed. Compensation for time and mileage occurs based on the reimbursement policy.

Qualifications

  • Master’s degree in human services or related field including psychology, counseling or social work
  • At least three years direct care experience with children or adolescents in the following Child and Adolescent Social Service Program (CASSP): Mental Health, Intellectual Disabilities, Education, Special Education, Children and Youth, Substance Use Disorder, Juvenile Justice, Health Care and Vocational Rehabilitation
  • At least two years of supervisory experience in any program of the CASSP system, preferred
  • Training in family therapy and specifically Ecosystemic Structural Family Therapy (ESFT) is a plus
  • Must be willing to travel to various locations as needed
  • Must obtain the following clearances prior to hire: PA State Police Criminal History, PA Child Abuse History, FBI Criminal History, and Mandated Reporting Certificate

Responsibilities

  • This position will report directly to the Director of Family Based Mental Health and has direct oversight of Family Based Mental Health staff providing services to the families within the program.
  • Supervision
    • To provide trauma informed quality supervision to assigned team member(s) in the ESFT model based on program expectations and requirements.
    • Promote social responsibility and provide weekly individual/group supervision with assigned staff that includes office supervision, live observation of sessions in the field, completion of ESFT Adherence Scale, video tape review, and clinical documentation review.
    • Complete Supervision documentation with therapists meeting required timelines and document them in accordance with policy and procedure.
    • Create, monitor, and implement Learning Contracts with all assigned staff to assist with staff professional growth and development
    • Provide additional supervision and support for n as needed.
    • Demonstrate social responsibility as the initial contact for all supervisory issues for assigned therapists and consult/refer to FBMH Program Director as needed.
    • Overall oversight of required clinical documentation to promote social responsibility of therapists to meet regulatory content and timelines.
    • Utilize open communication and social responsibility to follow-up on needs identified during clinical documentation review and review/approve clinical documentation such as treatment plans, assessment tools, progress notes, discharge paperwork and any other pertinent paperwork completed by supervisees.
    • Promote social learning by keeping up to date on community resources across the FBMH service area and as appropriate refer staff to these resources to assist with the case management aspect of FBMH.
    • Share social responsibility with Program Director and other Clinical Supervisors to be available to staff 24/7 as needed for collaboration, crisis intervention, support, and other clinical duties
  • Training
    • To enhance growth and change with supervisees through ensuring that staff receive training based on the ESFT model, trends, state and agency guidelines.
    • Provide direct training for therapists focusing on the ESFT model adherence, including orientation of new staff.
    • Serve as in-house trainer for completion of documentation and clinical model training.
    • Recommend therapists to attend out-of-house trainings as needed to enhance growth and change.
    • Maintain that all staff are participating in required Western Psychiatric Institute & Clinic (WPIC) trainings using social learning to promote personnel and professional growth and change.
    • Assist staff with presentations for WPIC
    • training as needed.
  • Professional Growth and Development
    • Practice social responsibility, social learning, and growth and change through attending and completing the 3-year WPIC training curriculum, meet certification standards, and follow through with state certification in ESFT.
    • Be open to personal and programmatic growth
    • and change through open communication as a supervisory team and attendance at WPIC trainings.
    • Attain state certification as a supervisor in ESFT through meeting and passing competency criteria through WPIC.
    • Meet weekly with the FBMH Program Director to discuss clinical concerns and process through treatment approaches.
    • Participate in clinical consultation phone calls with WPIC trainer as scheduled.
    • Continue personal growth development through research, reading pertinent literature, and seeking additional supervision as needed
  • Communication
    • Promote that open communication occurs in a timely manner among all persons needing to know.
    • Function as communication liaison between therapists, FBMH Program Director, and FBMH support systems.
    • Enhance social learning and open communication through connecting/referring therapists to the appropriate staff person for information.
    • Relay concerns and needs to FBMH Program Director as necessary before a situation would escalate.
    • Promote Sanctuary philosophy and CenClear's procedures, policies and regulations clearly and concisely in a positive manner.
    • Conducts yearly performance reviews of direct supervisees that utilizes open communication with staff members.
  • Resources and Accountability
    • To assure that the necessary resources are available to provide quality supervision to staff and services to families.
    • Practice social responsibility to therapists and present then with information, training and resources to provide quality services to families.
    • Practice social responsibility for open communication with MCO to coordinate clinically and obtain authorizations for continued services.
  • Other Clinical Duties/Miscellaneous
    • Complete clinical tasks as assigned by FBMH Program Director.
    • Complete tasks not listed above but which would be appropriate for those categories as assigned.
    • Complies with agency policies and procedures.
    • Utilizes Family Support Services funds to meet needs of family and clients.
    • Maintains community image.
    • Conducts Public Relations tasks.
