Position Highlights:

Position Title: Nurse Educator

Location: Hybrid (must be located in Arizona)

Position End Date: 7/31/2024

Salary: $92,000 plus benefits

Overview:

The CDC Foundation seeks candidates for a full-time Nurse Educator to support the Arizona Department of Health Services. The position will report to the Training, Education, and Outreach Coordinator in the Office of Healthcare-Associated Infections.

Qualifications:

● Bachelor’s degree in applied clinical science (nursing, public health, or related field) required; Master’s degree preferred

● Must have five years of experience in nursing practice and/or nursing supervision, nursing administration, or continuing nursing education programs

● Minimum of one-year experience as a Health Educator

● Additional experience in any of the above areas will substitute for the required education on a year-for-year basis

Desired Qualifications:

● Able to provide informative and engaging presentations in-person and virtually

● Bilingual (Spanish & English and/or one of the tribal languages & English); fluent both orally and written

● Certified in Infection Control (CIC)

Responsibilities:

● Primary focus will be working with local and tribal health departments in identifying and addressing infection prevention and control education and training opportunities for staff within healthcare settings

● Develops and conducts educational sessions for audiences on infection prevention and control

● Develops and conducts lectures and demonstrations to inform audiences on how to prevent disease transmission, particularly in the context of healthcare-associated infections and multi-drug resistant organisms

● Establish and maintain effective working relationships with partners, contractors, and stakeholders

● Participates in strategic planning with Program Managers and other team members in the Office in developing and implementing ideas to promote infection prevention and control efforts throughout the state

● Collaborate with partners such as healthcare associations, QIN/QIO, and local and tribal health departments to implement Project Firstline activities

● Partner with organizations to develop effective and cost-efficient opportunities for message planning, research, development, and delivery

● Provide subject matter expertise in the development and implementation of printed and online publications, ADHS websites, presentations, and collateral materials

● Develop content for posting on various digital media outlets, including ensuring consistency across communication channels and working within state requirements and guidelines

● Foundational knowledge of health equity, and cultural competence, and of diversity as it applies to individuals and populations is necessary

● Must have and maintain a valid driver’s license, automobile insurance, and reliable private transportation.

Special Notes:

This position requires the operation of a motor vehicle as a component of the job responsibilities and duties. In adherence with CDC Foundation’s Driver Safety Motor Vehicle Policy (“Policy”), offers for employment for this position require the Applicant to provide authorization to the CDC Foundation to conduct a Motor Vehicle Record (“MVR”) review both pre-employment and also annually post-employment while in this position. Additionally, if an offer of employment is accepted, employees in these positions must possess and maintain a valid driver's license in their state of residence, self-report motor vehicle violations/convictions, and provide proof of acceptable insurance coverage with mandatory minimum coverages as set forth within the Driver Safety Motor Vehicle policy. All offers of employment and continued employment for this position are contingent upon meeting all minimum qualifications of this Policy.

This role is involved in a dynamic public health program. As such, roles and responsibilities are subject to change as situations evolve. Roles and responsibilities listed above may be expanded upon or updated to match priorities and needs, once written approval is received by both the CDC Foundation and Arizona Department of Health Services, in order to best support the State of Arizona in their public health programming.

This position is Hybrid and located in Arizona. CDC Foundation retains the right to make adjustments to this as required.
