Position Summary: The Buyer Support Specialist is a critical role responsible for supporting our Regional and Central Buyers in their day-to-day activities. This position ensures the smooth execution of purchase order follow-ups, managing aging orders, and stepping in for buyers during their absence. The ideal candidate will have a keen attention to detail, effective communication skills, and an unwavering commitment to ensuring timely and accurate purchase processes.Key Responsibilities:Purchase Order Follow-Up:Proactively track all purchase orders placed by Regional and Central Buyers.Liaise with suppliers to confirm acknowledgments, ship dates and acquire tracking information.Update and maintain the internal system with relevant purchase order details.Management of Aging Purchase Orders:Monitor and review aging purchase orders to ensure that items are received in a timely manner.Communicate with suppliers regarding any delays or discrepancies.Coordinate with the Accounts Payable team to ensure smooth payment processes for completed orders.Act as a Stand-In Buyer:Assume the responsibilities of Regional Buyers during their absences, ensuring a seamless continuation of the buying process.Collaborate closely with sales and inventory teams to ensure product availability.Handle any urgent purchasing needs or crisis situations with composure and efficiency.Continuous Improvement:Identify opportunities for process and operational improvements.Collaborate with the buying and procurement teams to implement best practices.Reporting & Communication:Generate and present regular reports on purchase order status, delays, and other relevant metrics.Foster strong relationships with suppliers to ensure efficient and effective communication.Qualifications:Bachelor's degree in Business, Supply Chain, or related field is preferred.Previous experience in purchasing, supply chain, or a related role is preferred.Strong organizational skills and attention to detail.Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite, especially Excel.Proficiency in Google Suite, especially Sheets.Experience with procurement or ERP software is a plus.Ability to work in a fast-paced environment and manage multiple priorities.Exceptional communication skills, both written and verbal. #LP
