Job Title: Registered Nurse
Department: Intensive Care Unit
Position Status: Full Time, 36 hours per week
Schedule: 12 hour shifts
RN to Patient Ratio: varies from 1:1 to 1:4 based on patient acuity level
Position Summary: Registered Nurses at Cayuga Medical Center are an integral part of the collaborative interdisciplinary team devoted to the delivery of comprehensive and compassionate care to the Tompkins County community. RNs are able to practice at their full scope of practice, and have the opportunity to engage in the development, implementation, monitoring and evaluation of programs and services with the goal of improving patient outcomes, and execute an optimal plan of care in a shared governance environment.

Department Specific: The Intensive Care Unit offers the opportunity to work with a high variety of case mix and acuity for a diverse population of patients. ICU orientation is up to 6 months long, and is tailored to the individual needs of the employee. Employees are welcomed into a supportive and collaborative team, with an array of opportunities within the department such as charge, dialysis certification, and other organizational resources.
