Job Description:

The IT and Facilities Support role offers a compelling opportunity for candidates who excel in managing both technological and operational aspects of corporate environments. Responsibilities include upgrading and maintaining sophisticated IT and audio/visual systems, ensuring top-notch functionality and seamless operations across various facilities. The position extends beyond technical tasks, encompassing the creation of vital internal communications, overseeing office amenities, and liaising with property management to uphold high workplace standards. Additionally, it presents opportunities for professional development through participation in industry events and managing digital corporate communications. Responsibilities & Requirements: 

Maintain – and upgrade as needed: 

  • Embedded Cat-5/6 cabling wiring, LAN drops and Patch Panels 
  • Network devices, and their housings/mounts (e.g., wall-rack) 
  • ISP On-Premises devices, including coordination with vendor for support/troubleshooting 
  • Peripherals such as printers, to include consumables and device configuration/repair/replacement. 
  • For devices on maintenance contracts, coordinate (and advocate for) support from the vendor. 
  • Back-End A/V devices in the A/V Rack enclosure 
  • Embedded A/V cabling/connectors such as Cat-5/6, balanced audio, video, USB, and power 
  • Signal extenders, Docking Stations, USB multipliers and similar devices, to include their mounts, enclosures, and power feeds 
  • Conference microphones, speakers, and camera systems 
  • All large-format displays (projectors/screens and Flat-Panel Displays/TVs) 
  • A/V Devices 
  • “Meeting Admin” station equipment and cabling – except User laptop 
  • Mounting hardware for all A/V (e.g., projector ceiling mounts, screen mounts, etc.)
    • Maintain equipment, and reconfigure as directed: 
      • Tables 
      • Chairs, to include maintenance and replacement when needed
      • Whiteboards - fixed and mobile 
      • Participant power connections, extension cords, outlet/surge strips, anti-trip mats, etc.) 
      • Consumables such as dry erase markers, erasers, board cleaners, etc. 
      • Restroom keys and hooks 
      • Author PowerPoint brief content for site/facilities, IT, A/V, emergencies, etc. 

Maintain, repair and replace as needed: 

  • Office spaces including carpet, walls, ceiling tiles, interior doors/locks/keys, etc.
  • HVAC system – coverage/operation, thermostats, flow control, etc. 
  • Lighting, to include operation of controls and training staff on same 
  • CaVU signage, pictures/wall decorations (e.g., shadow boxes, etc.) 
  • Coordinate with property managers for many physical plant items such as HVAC filters 
  • Windows and exterior doors 
  • Maintain Cipher-Locks 
  • Monitor property condition and report/track issues (via Web portal). 

Other items: 

  • Coordinate with Property Manager and Site staff on cleanliness and repairs 
  • Maintain kitchen appliances, plumbing, water heater, water filter, etc. 
  • Monitor Executive Wash Room, to include complimentary consumables 
  • Coordinate Parking Passes for staff, and notify Property Managers in advance of large meetings 
  • Assist with leased suite and staff on their suite’s items, which may include acting as POC for repairs, etc. 
  • Maintain informational relationship with tenants in neighboring suites on issues of mutual interest related to physical infrastructure, site security, etc. 
  • IT support includes “distance technical support” for staff at all locations, such as San Diego CA, Patuxent River MD, Texas, Florida, Michigan, Tennessee, Oregon, Georgia and other locations which may be added in the future. 
  • C3PO reservation system and processes 
  • Event operational support
  • Represent CaVU at Industry Non-Profit activities (AFCEA, NDIA, SDMAC) 
  • Corporate electronic marketing support (web site edits and LinkedIn updates) 
  • O365 Data Management (SharePoint and Teams Administration) 
  • Cybersecurity Maturity Model Certification (CMMC) bi-annual assessment support 
  • IT Configuration Management (cataloging and capturing current state and desired changes) 
  • New Hire account creation and asset provisioning 
  • Equipment inventory and asset tracking 

Qualifications: 

Required: 

  • Ability to obtain and maintain a DoD Security Clearance
  • Bachelor's Degree (Completed or in-progress)
  • Prior experience in IT and Facilities Support
  • Problem-Solving Skills: Strong analytical and troubleshooting skills to effectively resolve IT and facilities-related issues as they arise.
  • Organizational Skills: Ability to manage multiple tasks and priorities efficiently, keeping track of equipment inventories, maintenance schedules, and contractual obligations.
  • Interpersonal Skills: Strong interpersonal skills to navigate the complexities of working with various stakeholders, from internal teams to external vendors and property management.
  • Software Proficiency: Proficiency in using office and IT administration tools, including Microsoft Office 365, SharePoint, Teams, and facilities or IT management software.

Desired:

  • Technical Certifications: Relevant certifications can include Azure Fundamentals, Microsoft Office 365 Administration, CompTIA A , Network , Security , Cisco Certified Network Associate (CCNA), or other specialized certifications related to network or A/V systems maintenance and cybersecurity.
  • Project Management Skills: Familiarity with project management principles or certifications like PMP (Project Management Professional) or CAPM (Certified Associate in Project Management) can be beneficial, as the role involves overseeing multiple projects and coordination tasks.

Comprehensive Compensation & Benefits Package:

Salary at CaVU is determined by various factors, including but not limited to location, education, training, certificates, knowledge, skills, competencies, and experience, as well as contract-specific affordability and organizational requirements. The expected salary range for this position is $55,000.00 - $75,000.00. To drive fair pay practices for employees, CaVU conducts regular comparisons across our employee groups and the industry. The above salary range represents a general guideline; however, CaVU considers a number of factors when determining salary offers such as the scope and responsibilities of the position and the candidate's experience, education, skills and current market conditions.
