Description:
To provide services and activities that help students learn and improve their knowledge of technology topics such as social media, photo, and audio/video. Digital Media Coordinator will assist staff by answering questions, providing technical help and instruction in the basic techniques of Digital Media. Plan, develop, organize, and conduct a comprehensive Digital Media Education program for students.
Responsibilities:
Programs:
· Teach concepts and skills in the Digital Media such as, but not limited to: Multimedia Production; Web Development; Web Design; Mobile Applications Development; Streaming Media Production; Game Design; Graphic Design; and other Digital Media Design applications
· Develop, implement, and monitor safety policies and procedures for all Digital Media Design related activities
· Develop effective lesson plans and develop and demonstrate Digital Media Design Industry skills and concepts using frequent hands-on activities, models, instructional aids, supplies, technology, and lab experiences on and off sites.
· Adapt a Digital Media Design curriculum, materials and methods to develop sequential assignments that guide, challenge and meet the needs of the students.
Knowledge, Skills & Abilities:
● Bachelor’s degree in Digital Media Arts or a related discipline required
● Ability to communicate effectively to multiple audiences in person and remotely
● Willingness to work positively with and mentor youth
● Pass required criminal background checks
● Ability to perform all tasks identified in this job description
● Valid driver’s license
Education/Experience Prerequisites:
● Bachelor’s degree from an accredited college or university
● Experience working in Digital Media
● Knowledge of afterschool programs, communities and/or positive youth development
Work Location
Office location is 7 Vieux Drive, East St. Louis IL. Digital; Media Coordinator will primarily be inside the the office and at their assigned program site.
Job Type: Part-time
Pay: $15.00 - $20.00 per hour
Expected hours: 25 – 30 per week
