About Catholic Urban Programs
Catholic Urban Programs exists to advance human dignity, remediate the effects of poverty, and empower people to become self-sufficient through crisis intervention, housing security, and out-of-school time programs. Services are provided throughout the Diocese of Belleville with a concentrated focus on East St. Louis and St. Clair County. CUP operates its program and services at 8 locations in the East St. Louis Community.

Description:

To create a clean, orderly, and safe environment by performing a wide variety of cleaning, maintenance, and organizational tasks in the buildings.

Responsibilities:

· Complete the center’s daily, weekly, and monthly cleaning schedule.

• Washes and sanitizes bathroom, toilet, fixtures, floors, and walls
• Sweep and mop classroom spaces.
• Empty all trash receptacles and ensure the inside of trashcans remain clean and sanitize.
• Move, rearrange, and set up furniture to accommodate center events.
• Assist with the delivery of food and supplies.

· May be required to assist with painting, and flooring upkeep i.e. waxing and buffing floors

· Report needed repairs to the proper authorities.

· Pickup paper and other debris from outside site perimeter.

· Collect all dirty towels from the sites on Thursdays, deliver to the shelter to be washed, pick up clean towels on Friday morning before going to sites to clean.

· Perform other duties as assigned by supervisor within the scope of the position.

Qualifications and Requirements

· Must be committed in becoming well versed in the mission and vision of Catholic Urban Programs

· Must have knowledge of best practice cleaning standards

· Must be able to lift a minimum of 50lbs.

· Must have reliable transportation

· Lifting, carrying, and pushing required

· Excellent verbal and written communications skills

· Highly organized and detail-oriented with project management experience

· Ability to cope well with change and remain positive and support the agency functions and processes as programs and culture evolve and change

Job Type: Full-time

Pay: $15.00 - $17.00 per hour
