SUMMARY: Provides a wide range of supports and activities to a variety of clients with addiction and/or mental illness disorders including those clients with co-occurring disorders, and trauma experiences. This position also requires one to serve as peer recovery coach, including assisting clients to steer through the complex health and social service systems and connect with critical resources. The Recovery House Manger serves in a recovery house setting to facilitate operations, coordinate with community partners, addiction professionals, and provide guidance and direction to the residents and the house leaders about the programing.
RESPONSIBILITIES
1. Facilitates operations at recovery house facilities and reports to the Executive Director the status and results of the program.
2. Provides recommendations to sustain or improve residential recovery programing for agency.
3. Guides and directs house leaders to ensure residential services are maintained in a safe, supportive, drug free environment.
4. Provides peer support and models recovery for residents assuring that resources are coordinated and actions taken that will assist in the achievement of shared goals. This may include referring clients to other services within CSSUP or other agencies and/or consultation with other professionals regarding client’s problems and needs.
5. Conducts screening with clients to determine immediate needs and eligibility for programs.
6. Provides client orientation insuring that clients are knowledgeable about the program, their rights as clients, and understand the rules of recovery living.
7. Conducts intake interviews with clients gathering bio-psychosocial data.
8. Develops with clients agreed upon goals, objectives and interventions.
9. Connects clients with treatment and recovery supports and services.
10. Provides safe and effective crisis counseling to clients suffering from relapses.
11. Conducts individual and group meetings to address and resolve issues in a recovery house setting.
12. Keeps client records in accordance with agency policies.
13. Provides program promotion and community education activities, prevention services and outreach activities as needed.
14. Serves as a positive role model for clients.
15. Adheres to the Code of Ethics of their profession, CSSUP and the Michigan Association of Addiction Professionals, agency policies and state and federal laws regarding confidentiality and client rights.
16. Attends training and educational programs as needed to remain certified as a Peer Recovery Coach.
QUALIFICATIONS:
1. Certified Peer Recovery Coach or will be able to obtain certification within six months of hire.
7. An awareness and sensitivity of the particular cultural aspects of the population in the local area. For example, children, the elderly, Native Americans, etc.
CREDENTIALING REQUIREMENTS:
1. Maintain certifications as required and appropriate by the State of Michigan.
