Who You Are :
As a Sterile Processing Technician for Catholic Medical Center (CMC), you are dedicated and detail-oriented individual. This vital role involves ensuring that all medical instruments and equipment are meticulously cleaned, disinfected, and sterilized to maintain the highest standards of patient care and safety.
This a benefitted full-time (40 hours / week Nights) position. You will work 8-hour shifts. The hours are 11 : 00pm-7 : 30am Monday-Friday, with call and weekend / holiday rotation.
What You’ll Do :
- Properly decontaminate, clean, inspect, assemble, and sterilize medical instruments and equipment according to established protocols and standards.
- Operate and maintain sterilization equipment, such as autoclaves and ultrasonic cleaners, to ensure effectiveness and efficiency.
- Collaborate with surgical and clinical staff to fulfill specific instrument and equipment requests, maintaining accurate records and inventory levels.
- Adhere to infection control protocols and maintain a sterile processing environment to prevent healthcare-associated infections.
- Stay current with industry best practices and regulatory requirements for sterile processing procedures.
- Strong attention to detail, organizational skills, and the ability to work effectively in a fast-paced, team-oriented environment.
- Knowledge of medical terminology, infection control principles, and sterilization techniques.
- Ability to understand and follow established protocols and standards for sterile processing.
What You’ll Bring :
- High school diploma or equivalent;
- Certification as a Sterile Processing Technician preferred.
- Previous experience in sterile processing or a related healthcare setting is desirable but not required.
