FULL-TIME, NON-EXEMPT STATUS POSITION

The Catholic Diocese of Cleveland was founded on April 23, 1847. Under the leadership of the Most Reverend Edward C. Malesic, bishop of Cleveland, it is the twenty-third largest diocese in the United States. The diocese encompasses the Ohio counties of Cuyahoga, Summit, Lorain, Lake, Geauga, Medina, Wayne and Ashland. There are more than 677,000 Catholics in the Diocese, and Catholic Charities- Diocese of Cleveland is one of the largest diocesan systems of social services in the world. There are 185 parishes, 107 Catholic schools, 1 pastoral center and 1 mission office within the diocese. The cathedral is the Cathedral of St. John the Evangelist, located in downtown Cleveland.

The mission of the Catholic Community Foundation (CCF) is to foster faith-based stewardship in the community for the spiritual, educational and charitable needs of all.

The Development Associate provides administrative support to philanthropic service functions of the Catholic Community Foundation (CCF).

Duties and responsibilities include, but are not limited to:

  • Administrative support for the CCF’s grant-making activities. This includes preparation of necessary information for grant seekers, committee meetings, site visits, reporting, website maintenance, check requests and database entry.
  • Administrative support for CCF’s Permanent Named Funds, including responsibility for fund opening, stewardship and acknowledgement of fund donors, maintenance of fund data on Raisers Edge and mailing of annual distribution checks.
  • Coordination and administrative support of CCF’s endowed/memorial/special funds (e.g Tabor Fund) requiring a grant process, including maintenance of website, publication of grant opportunities, acceptance and review of applications in coordination with outside advisors, check requests, award letters and database entry.
  • Administrative support for all activities associated with CCF’s Donor Advised Funds, including fund opening, ongoing administration, processing of grant recommendations, award letters to grant recipients and acknowledgment letters to donors. Responsibilities also include management of Stellar/iphi donor portal and associated Raiser’s Edge entries.
  • Administrative support for CCF’s Women’s Giving Circle grant-making activities and meetings.
  • Administrative support for and coordination of Professional Advisors Committee meetings, communications, and support for annual continuing education seminar.
  • Responsibilities also include preparation of planned giving and philanthropic services reports.
  • Administrative support for Parish Services Manager as needed.
  • Other duties as assigned.

Qualifications:

  • Three to five years clerical experience, including working with Microsoft Office applications and Raiser’s Edge.
  • Extremely proficient in Microsoft Office applications, especially Microsoft Word, Excel and Outlook.
  • Knowledge of Raiser’s Edge and RE NXT software preferred.
  • Self-starter, ability to work independently, very organized, detail-oriented. Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
  • Knowledge of and familiarity with organization of the Catholic Church helpful.
  • Familiarity with website content management a plus.
