Position Summary
The Child Welfare Program Manager collaborates with the Child Welfare (CW) Director and Child Welfare Compliance Officer to support the transition of new Child Welfare staff members from the training phase to leaders in the respective positions (Foster Care, Adoption, and Licensing). The Child Welfare Training Manager Coordinates the CW Training Institute schedules and field experience for new staff, guides education sessions, provides trauma informed support to residents, serves as a CW expert, and guides the resident’s professional development project efforts
Annual Salary Range: $54,000.00 - $66,000.00

Essentials Duties and Responsibilities
Hires, trains, and supports new staff in the training program
Provides ongoing development, coordination, and management support of training program
Provides clinical oversight to residents throughout the training program to support continuity of assignments, the progression of competency, update progress, ensure appropriate documentation, share knowledge and assist in the development of clinical decision-making skills
Functions as a liaison between roles and departments in ensuring a smooth coordination of orientation and ongoing development, including facilitating meetings, identifying and responding to daily problems, and communicating and collaborating with many different members of Child Welfare (CW)
Schedules and coordinates monthly training curriculum, provides simulation experiences, and skill labs
Supports development of the CW Training Professional Development Plan
Assists in the coordination of Training Program graduation celebration
Facilitates training program data collection and outcomes tracking as appropriate
Monitors clinical and patient satisfaction outcomes related to CW training contributions
Mentors and develops preceptors by offering ongoing learning workshops
Drives for agency business
Other Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities
Knowledge of state and local human service systems and resources, particularly as they apply to child and family services
Ability to relate to diverse populations and cultures while communicating with other staff and the public in a courteous and effective manner
Knowledge of child welfare policies and programs
Ability to work in partnership with other team members
Ability to demonstrate sensitivity and responsiveness to cultural differences present in the Agency’s service population
Ability to communicate effectively
Ability to work in a collaborative manner across multiple levels of staff and programs
Recommended Employment Qualifications
Education:
Bachelor's degree in Social Work or related Human Service field is required; master's degree preferred
Experience:
A minimum of 4 years of work experience in Child Welfare (Foster Care, Licensing, and Adoption) is preferred.
A minimum of 2 years of experience working in MiSACWIS is preferred.
Certificates, Licenses, Registrations:
Professional State of Michigan License preferred
Supervisory Responsibilities:
This position does not have supervisory responsibilities.
