The Family Self-Sufficiency Plan Coordinator (FSSP) will provide resettlement services to refugees sponsored into the Diocese of Harrisburg by United States Catholic Conference (USCC). This position will be responsible for monitoring the self-sufficiency of new participants.
The FSSP Coordinator is responsible for providing case management and supportive services to all eligible family members within the household desiring to achieve sustainable economic self–sufficiency, allowing them to meet the basic needs of their families as defined by the United States Refugee Program, during the first 12 months after arrival. Conducts 12 month follow up interviews with client and family members.
Assist families with the following goals: Childcare, education, English language proficiency, longer-term housing, social and civic integration, accessing applicable community resources. Tracks participant activity and progress data. Works with participants to acquire required documents to access additional services and resources.
Seeks additional family self-sufficiency opportunities: Initiates and maintains ongoing personal contacts with a variety of business and industry representatives and additional supportive family agencies to promote programs for economic self-sufficiency. Locates jobs for participants who have successfully completed initiatives and programs. Participates in outreach and recruitment activities by coordinating and attending family self-sufficiency program workshops.
Maintains relationship with families: Explains the benefits of family self-sufficiency program services provided by Catholic Charities, including addressing families' special needs upon intake and assessment. After client Intake and appointments, the FSSP coordinator will complete accurate case notes based on the appointment, along with reviewing and updating the client file as appropriate to ensure program compliance standards are being met. Collects data from families related to supportive service resources and needs. Provides family self-sufficiency resources in addition to any available community resources the family may benefit from. Maintains contact with family members during the participants' involvement in the FSSP program and reports results to appropriate staff. Attends bi-weekly meetings with other refugee employment service workers.
Follow Department of Welfare rules and regulations for Temporary Assistance for Needy Families (TANF) program.
High School Diploma required. Bilingual skills in a common client language are preferred.
