About our WIC Food and Nutrition Centers For more than 30 years, Catholic Charities of the Archdiocese of Chicago has partnered with the Illinois Department of Human Services to serve moms, caregivers, infants, and children through neighborhood-based centers that offer 100% WIC- approved products. Today, thousands of families access healthy food, formula, and wraparound supports in 15 under-resourced communities across Chicago. This mom-centered model simplifies the shopping experience and helps to alleviate common barriers WIC participants experience, including stigma in retail grocery stores, challenges finding WIC-approved products, and learning how to successfully navigate the system and utilize their benefits. Catholic Charities' WIC centers serve nearly 60,000 people annually, most of whom live on Chicago's South and West Sides.
Essential Functions of the position are detailed below and include any physical requirements below that - Responsible for raising awareness of WIC with potential clients, community organizations, government officials, and key businesses, as well as internal program staff, identifying and cultivating relationships that create opportunities for partnership
- Generates ideas for, organizes, and executes promotional outreach events and activities
- Works independently and exercises sound judgment, identifying priorities and implementing strategies with timelines for diverse audiences
- Available to work a flexible schedule, including evenings and weekends
- Responds to client inquiries on social media in compliance with CCAC/program policies and procedures
- Attends community meetings, events, and initiatives that align with the WIC Grocery Program
- Maintain awareness of relevant trends, updates, and publications
- Delivers written and verbal reports to WIC leaders following attendance at community events. Adheres to internal communication policy and maintains accurate, updated files and data required by CCAC and relevant regulatory entities
- Identify priorities and implement strategies with timelines for diverse communities
- Identify and cultivate relationships with external community partners that create opportunities for the VP of WIC Grocery to develop service partnerships
- Coordinates and facilitates quarterly WIC Outreach meetings and provides Community Outreach updates at WIC Grocery monthly staff meetings

Education and Experience Requirements: Relevant Education: Preferred: Bachelor's Degree: Communication, Public Relations or related field
Minimum: Associate Degree: Communication, Public Relation or related field
Relevant Experience: Preferred: 5 years experience
Minimum: 3-5 years experience
Minimumand Preferred Qualifications: Preferred: Excellent Computer Skills (Word, Excel, and PowerPoint)
Minimum: Advance computer skills (Word, Excel, and PowerPoint). Knowledge of social media outlets such as Google Business, Facebook, and Instagram
