Catholic Charities of Central Florida Inc is Hiring an Accounting Generalist Near Orlando, FL

Description

Accounting Generalist proficient in QuickBooks and Excel. Full responsibility for Accounts Payable accounting functions including assisting with financial statements and audits. Maintain daily GL activities and accounts payable. Generate and maintain accurate and timely financial records. Assist with Payroll processing/reporting, and other general accounting tasks. Familiarity with grant account coding and grant reporting helpful; must be able to multitask.

Responsibilities:

  • Enter A/P items accurately and track agency expenditures to ensure timely remittances to vendors and other related financial activities.
  • Keep timely and accurate financial records utilizing computer software.
  • Code documents according to agency procedures and verify grant balances are sufficient to cover expenses.
  • Review and resolve monthly vendor statements and outstanding A/P checks according to established agency procedures.
  • Maintain prepaid schedules and prepare Intercompany Billing.
  • Assist in the preparation of internal financial reports and cross-train to serve as backup to Payroll as needed.
  • Maintain/Reconcile general ledgers and related subsidiary ledgers.
  • Prepare additional internal reports as requested or needed by program administrators, management personnel, and as directed by Director of Finance.
  • Report discrepancies found in records to Director of Finance timely.
  • Perform general office duties such as digital filing and managing routine correspondence.
  • Attend meetings and events as required.

Requirements

Educational Qualifications: Associate degree in business or accounting with 2 years of relevant experience, or an equivalent combination of education and experience is required.

Experience Qualifications Must be proficient in Microsoft Office including Excel, Word, and Outlook. Proficiency with computer accounting programs; QuickBooks knowledge is preferred. May be required to learn other agency software systems.
