For over 117 years, Catholic Charities Brooklyn and Queens has been providing quality social services to the neighborhoods of Brooklyn and Queens, and currently offers 160-plus programs and services for children, youth, adults, seniors, and those struggling with mental illness. Personalized Recovery Oriented Services is a mental health recovery and rehabilitation program that helps adults pursue and maintain meaningful life goals. Through group and individual work, participants learn skills to negotiate challenges in work, living, learning or social environments. STATEMENT OF THE JOBUnder the direction of the Clinical Manager for Behavioral Health, the Employment Specialist has responsibility for direct services to participants in the Personal Recovery Oriented Services (PROS) outpatient program. Responsibilities also include conducting phone referrals, initial interviews in preparation for other required assessments for enrollment, crisis intervention, conduct classes/ groups/ activities and off-site services and activities under the CRS and ORS service component.* Responsible for direct services to participants in the Personal Recovery Oriented Services (PROS) outpatient program. * Functioning as part of the treatment team to maintain mandated levels of service. * Conducting phone referrals, initial interviews in preparation for other required assessments for enrollment, crisis intervention, conduct classes/ groups/ activities and off-site services and activities under the CRS and ORS service component. * Providing opportunities for learning and developing skills to improve levels of independence, benefits education and training, & assessments for rehab readiness and placement. * Assisting with employment related tasks including conducting mock interviews, providing job development, supportive employment, & integration in the community and traveling independently. QUALIFICATIONS * Bachelor’s Degree in a relevant Human Services field of study.* One or more years of experience preferred.* Ability to evaluate and intervene in crisis situations. * Excellent oral & written communication, time management, organizational, & computer skills required.
