Cathedral School for Boys is Hiring an On-Call Substitute Teacher Near San Francisco, CA
Role Title: On-Call Substitute Teacher
FLSA Status: Part-time, Non-exempt
Reports to: Division Director
Direct Reports: N/A
Role’s Main Purpose: Substitute teachers provide classroom support in grades K–4 and lead subject-specific classes for grades 5–8. Substitute teachers will also perform school-related duties including lunch and recess supervision.
Key Responsibilities:
- Actively engage with students in classroom activities
- Use effective classroom management strategies
- Implement lesson plans when applicable
- Supervise students at recess and lunch
- Use technology as needed
- Maintain the tidiness of the classroom
Skills and Competencies:
- A passion for working with young people
- A positive, resilient disposition
- Attention to detail with strong organizational and communication skills
Required Qualifications and Experience:
- High school diploma
- Proof of COVID-19 vaccination
- CA Live Scan
- Negative TB Test CPR, First Aid and AED certified
- Experience Relevant teaching experience working in a school setting
Preferred Qualification:
- CPR, First Aid and AED certified
Compensation and Benefits: Cathedral uses a daily rate of $240 for substitute teachers.
