BOH Event Catering

Summary:

We are looking for experienced event workers to run the BOH at our off premise catering events. If you like variety, change of scenery, and the fast pace of the food service industry, we want you! We offer $20/hr tips for weekend shifts and weekly pay!

We need seasonal Event Worker to assist with weekend events. Typical shifts are Friday, Saturday and occasionally Sunday nights, from the months of April-November. If you are looking for part time work to make some extra income, we encourage you to apply. Previous food industry experience required. Banquet experience is a bonus!

Catered Creations, Inc. is a family-owned, off-premise catering company. Our family has been serving Grand Rapids and the surrounding areas with imaginative foods, quality ingredients, and reliable service for over 35 years. We’ll cater any event from corporate meetings to grad parties to weddings, and everything in between. We’ll even bring ‘the kitchen’ to our clients & their guests!

Responsibilities:

- Keep a safe work environment
- Follow sanitation & food handling guidelines
- Learn the menu & be able to explain ingredients & preparation methods
- Follow verbal & written instructions with basic food prep
- Organize product in coolers & on shelves
- Effectively put truck orders away
- Staff events (most events are evening & weekends)
- Set up & refill food buffets on events
- Attend action stations on events- i.e., carving station, omelet station, etc.
- Assist in loading & unloading of vans for events
- Assist in cleanup of events

Qualifications:

- Well organized
- 1 years experience in commercial kitchen
- Willfulness to learn
- Career oriented & enjoys cooking/food
- Valid Driver’s License (not required, but preferred)
- Flexible work availability
- Reliable transportation
- Dependable attendance record
- Able to work in a fast-paced environment
- Able to lift & carry up to 50 pounds
- Able to work on feet for 8 to 12- hour shifts
- Able to work nights & weekends (Friday & Saturday availability is mandatory). Typical shifts are about 6 hours in length and finish by 10:30 pm at the latest.

Perks/Pay:

- Weekday shifts are $18/hour

-Weekend shifts include $2/hr differential pay! (Friday nights, Saturday & Sunday shifts)
