• Responsible for all tasks related to making and mixing dough
  • Must remove bowls from mixer and deliver to designated area
  • Must retrieve bowls from designated area and return to mixers
  • Ensure correct ingredients and quantities are being used
  • Follow established recipes as directed
  • Scrape mixer of dried dough at end of shift or job
  • Return any unused raw ingredients that other shift will not be using to assigned area
  • Change silos on the scaler by following standard process and procedure
  • Adjust dough and oven temperatures as needed
  • Following safety protocols, clear equipment jams

• Assist with ensuring the line is running at the optimal level
  • Work closely with the line Operator to ensure products being made meet the production schedule
  • Partner with the line Operator when lines are not working or need to be stopped
  • Stop and/or start production lines as needed
  • Must inform operator of any problems you might have with dough formulation or machine problems
  • Assist in the regrinding process
  • Cover operator for breaks as needed
  • Work with the line operators on any special project that may arise

• ERP System (Plex) and documentation responsibilities
  • Accurately record and document ingredient usage in ERP System (Plex) and/or paper documents (i.e. batch pack sheets)
  • Use ERP System (Plex) for formulas, shortening and seasonings for all product runs
  • Accurately choose and close job set in ERP System (Plex)
  • Locate and update recipes on mixer screen in ERP System (Plex)
  • Correctly report all relevant data on the mixer reports, such as the finished temperature of the dough

General Responsibilities

• Keep work area clean and orderly

• Maintain compliance with established policies and procedures

• Resolve problems by analyzing data, investigating issues, identifying solutions and recommending action
• Train new mixers and assist with developing current employees into the Mixer position

• Ensure operation of equipment by calling for repairs and communicating with the maintenance team
• Communicate effectively with shift team members as well as other shifts to ensure clarity and continuity
• Actively participate in Food Safety and Food defense related activities
• Perform additional duties as directed

Education & Experience

• High school graduate or equivalent work experience
• 3 years production experience preferably in a bakery and/or food manufacturing environment

Specific Competencies

• Ability to lift 50 pound shortening boxes to a height of 4 feet.

• Ability to pull / push a bowl containing 500 pounds of dough
  • Consistently mix a good product with attention to quality
  • Accurately measure ingredients
  • Safely operate industrial mixing equipment
  • Use digital scales to ensure correct product weights
