Fuel Dock Role:

This role performs a variety of routine fueling and related services to commercial and recreational boaters, assists with tending lines, and providing excellent customer service; and performs related work as required.

  • Assists visiting boaters, company boats, and employees by providing fuel, water, and pump-out service

  • Acts as Dock Greeter - greeting management, coworkers, and the general public and assisting with their needs and directions

  • Calculates fuel charges and collects payment

  • Balances Cash at end of shift and relevant reports

  • Assists boaters by tending lines

Qualifications


Required Qualifications:

  • High School/GED diploma
  • Be at least 18 years of age
  • California Boaters Card - must obtain prior to hiring 
  • Boat handling experience 
  • Operational characteristics of a variety of basic tools and equipment.
  • Occupational hazards and standard safety practices.
  • Principles and practices of record-keeping.
  • Principles and practices for providing high level of customer service.
  • Basic computer skills in order to operate various computer programs and POS systems
  • Basic mathematical skills to be able to add, subtract, divide, multiple, calculate discounts and percentages
  • Understand, interpret, and apply all pertinent laws, codes, regulations, policies, and procedures.
  • Demonstrate strong customer service skills and establish, maintain, and foster positive and effective working relationships.
  • Maintain records and files on work performed.
  • Use English effectively to communicate in person, over the telephone, and in writing. 
  • Ability to follow directions, efficiently coordinate functions with the team to meet daily deadlines
  • Contribute to the team and overall goals of the department

Physical Requirements:

  • Safely and effectively use, operate, and maintain equipment and tools.
  • Perform light to moderate manual labor.

  • Strength, stamina, and mobility to perform light to medium physical work over the course of an 8 hour shift.

  • Walk, climb and descend stairs frequently in operational areas to perform assigned tasks.
  • Finger dexterity needed to access, enter, and retrieve data using a computer keyboard, calculator, and to operate tools and equipment.
  • Ability to frequently bend, stoop, kneel, reach, and inspect.
  • Full range of overhead motions and full hand dexterity.
  • Ability to lift, carry, push, and pull materials and objects weighing up to 25 pounds or heavier weights with assistance and/or the use of proper equipment.
  • Ability to handle stressful situations with guests and/or staff.

Job Expectations regarding Scheduling:

  • This position requires a flexible schedule with shifts that consists of a rotating schedule of weekday and weekend shifts, including day, night, and holiday work hours.
