POSITION: Estimator
REPORTS TO: Purchasing Manager
DIRECT REPORTS: None
OBJECTIVE:
Support all aspects of the purchasing process from contract to closing related to starts and variances.
KEY JOB FUNCTIONS:
I. Estimating Duties.
A. Verify the accuracy and completeness of all contract information, including options and selections.
B. Estimate all non-standard options, including lot variance options.
C. Review Builder Notes from Precon, and update plans and lot-specific take offs as necessary.
D. Create lot-specific estimates which include all base, elevation, option, and custom items.
E. Review estimates to verify accuracy of items, quantities, vendors, and pricing.
F. Pull estimate information into WMS, and send to the Subdivision Coordinator for processing of purchase orders.
II. Project Support.
A. Review and research variances on invoices and purchase orders received for payment.
B. Provide support to the Subdivision Coordinators, Builders, and Sales.
C. Research and correct any problems with purchase orders and invoices.
D. Review, approve, and create estimates for change orders, and route to the Subdivision Coordinators for processing.
E. Review all lot-specific drawings prior to release.
F. Complete all other duties as assigned by management.
Physical Requirements
Must be able to lift items weighing 50 lbs. or more. Must be able to ascend and descend stairs and ladders. Must be able to traverse uneven terrain. Must be able to function in an exterior environment that includes extreme temperatures. Must be able to process information visually and aurally.
