Hastings Health & Living, a 5-star rated long-term care facility, is seeking an experienced individual to join our team as a Part-Time Health Unit Coordinator (HUC).

In this role, you will coordinate information and provide administrative support to our team to ensure our residents and visitors have the best possible experience.

Our ideal candidate has excellent organization and customer service skills, along with medical terminology knowledge.

This is a Part-Time position working 20 hours per week . This position requires working every other weekend, but otherwise the schedule is flexible.

Health Unit Coordinator (HUC) responsibilities :

• Provide excellent customer service to all residents, visitors, and staff.
• Work with admissions, room transfers, and discharges.
• Transcribe physician orders and assist in preparing residents’ treatment charts.
• Schedule resident appointments, transportation, and labs.
• Prepare and file 21-day admission audits on each resident.
• Maintain and file resident medical records electronically.
• Direct phone calls, sort mail, and complete other receptionist duties.
• Perform other tasks as requested.

Health Unit Coordinator (HUC) skills and requirements :

• Prior experience as a Health Information Coordinator, Health Unit Coordinator (HUC) or Trained Medication Aide (TMA) required.
• Must be able to pass medical terminology class.
• Current Minnesota LPN license preferred.
• Strong leadership, written and verbal communication skills.
• Excellent organizational, time management and team-building skills.
• Self-starter with a desire to be a part of a team.
