Scope of Responsibility

Polymers/Cascade Engineering has an opening for a Shipping Receiving Lead. The Shipping and Receiving Lead is responsible for managing and coordinating incoming and outgoing shipments, as well as ensuring that products are properly labeled, loaded, and unloaded. This individual also performs all shipping and receiving duties, which include but are not limited to leading the Shipping and Receiving team, delivering finished goods to customer on Campus, receiving of raw materials, inventory management to increase inventory accuracy and maintaining accurate records of all incoming and outgoing shipments.

Location: Noble Polymers (4855 37th St. SE, Grand Rapids, MI 49512)

Shift: 1st Shift (Monday – Thursday from 5am – 3:10pm)

Target Pay: $19.46 - $26.75 / hour

What You’ll Be Doing

• Develops receiving and shipping schedules internally
• Performs raw material receiving functions
• Maintains regular and clear communication with the warehouse team to understand their daily needs and requirements
• Stage raw materials for jobs coming up (WIP)
• Updates and maintains supplier files, ensuring proper communication and procedures are followed with relevant departments
• Stages customer orders for shipping, including documentation and labeling
• Manages warehouse operations, ensuring FIFO (First In, First Out) for raw materials
• Conducts inventory accuracy checks and perform activity-based cycle counting as the Cycle Counter for Noble
• Coordinates logistics needs and arrangements with the Cascade Engineering Logistics Manager when necessary
• Provides transportation quotations as needed
• Participates in root cause analysis and problem-solving processes
• Enforces and complies with all regulatory requirements, including DOT, OSHA, and other applicable laws
• Understands and complies with company policies and procedures including ISO 14001 and Financial practices
• Communicate with suppliers to address any arising issues
• Schedule routine preventive maintenance (PM) for trucks and trailers and direct them to the appropriate personnel
• Codes supplier receipts and match to invoices
• Provides assistance and support to the shipping and receiving team in executing their daily tasks
• Collaborate with Production department to ensure smooth operations and timely processing of incoming and outgoing shipments
• Holds a CDL endorsement to serve as a backup driver if necessary
• Perform all other duties as assigned
