SUMMARY DESCRIPTION:

Housekeeping is at the core of hotel operations. The room attendant plays a vital role in ensuring guest satisfaction and maintaining standards of cleanliness and professionalism.

ESSENTIAL DUTIES

· Greeting guests and communicating in a friendly, courteous, and professional way

· Ensuring the safety, well-being, and satisfaction of guests

· Organizing and cleaning rooms

· Replacing stocks of guest supplies

· Bringing complaints, problems, and queries to the attention of their immediate supervisor

· Delivering and retrieving any items on loan to guests

· Reporting lost and found to the attention of their immediate supervisor

· Assist with stripping of dirty linen from the guest rooms as needed

· Sort linens for washer

· Remove stains from badly soiled linen

· Dispose of linen and terry properly

· Operate washers and dryers properly as well as ensuring that the correct chemicals (and amounts) are being used

· Fold linens to hotel standards and keep stock organized designated places

· Wash bed wraps, duvets, mattress pads, and blankets in accordance with hotel standards

· Keep laundry neat and clean

· Assist with cleaning and up-keeping of storage areas

· All other duties assigned

RESPONSIBILITIES AND AUTHORITIES:

· Ensuring all departmental service standards are upheld

· Ensuring guest satisfaction

· Ensuring that the entire hotel maintains a clean and orderly appearance

· Maintaining guest security and privacy

· Attending to guest requests and complaints

Education:

· High School Diploma or equivalent required

Knowledge:

· Knowledge of appropriate standards

Skills:

· High level of attention to detail

· Must be able to read, understand, write and communicate in English

· Maintain positive and productive working relationships with other employees and departments

· Ability to work independently and to partner with others to promote an environment of teamwork

Physical:

· Walking, standing, bending, lifting, sitting, and reaching.

· Must be able to move about the property with ease.

· Ability to work in moderately noisy work environment for long periods of time and communicate effectively in this environment

· Must be able to lift a minimum of 75 pounds on occasion

· Must be able to push or pull a minimum of 100 pounds

Other:

· Possess a gracious, friendly, and caring demeanor

· Must be 18 years of age or older

· Must have dependable transportation to and from work

· Must be able to work a flexible schedule
