CASA OF SHAWNEE COUNTY is Hiring a Child in Need of Care (CINC) Volunteer Supervisor - CASA Near Topeka, KS

The Child in Need of Care (CINC) Volunteer Supervisor position is parttime/fulltime and assumes responsibility for supervision, case management, training and coordination of assigned volunteers to ensure that abused and neglected children receive quality advocacy in court. The position reports to the Executive Director.

PREFERRED EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE:

The CASA Supervisor should have the following skills and experience:

  • Bachelor’s degree in social service or education-related field or equivalent combination of education and experience
  • Experience with the foster care system, Department of Children and Families or its contractors, Juvenile Court system, Court Appointed Special Advocates, other child welfare agencies
  • Supervisory experience preferred
  • Ability to communicate concisely and clearly
  • Driver’s license and available transportation

RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • Provide ongoing supervision of volunteers
  • Review new cases and assist in assignment of appropriate volunteers in consultation with the Executive Director
  • Prepare volunteers for court & review reports before court hearings
  • Attend all hearings with CASA volunteers and track court dates
  • Keep case files updated with court documents, CASA volunteer reports and other materials or updates
  • Collaborate with court, social services, law enforcement, schools and other agencies
  • Provide updated resource guide for referrals
  • Maintain personnel file on each CASA volunteer
  • Assist in screening of volunteer applicants: responsible for fingerprinting and interviewing potential volunteers, checking references, and completing criminal records check and sex offender and protective services checks
  • Attend staff meetings and assist in the evaluation of the program
  • Provide required statistical information for our local, state, and national CASA programs.
  • Attend in-service trainings and assist with coordination if requested
  • Assist with volunteer events and fundraisers
  • Complete work time sheets bi-weekly
  • Attend conferences/seminars/meetings as requested by the Executive Director
  • Other duties as may be assigned by the Executive Director

This position does require the ability to self-manage a weekly schedule. CASA of
Shawnee County utilizes Microsoft Office, SharePoint, Zoom, Teams and Optima Case Management.

Wages Hourly - Negotiable based on experience

Signing bonus of $500 upon successful completion of 6 months.
