Description

Job Summary:

The District Manager (DM) is responsible for overseeing several Highs of Baltimore, LLC store locations within a designated region. The DM is ultimately responsible for ensuring the highest level of customer service throughout each assigned store; while being a role model and leader, supporting our vision of being "Fast, Fresh & Friendly." The DM solves problems, makes informed decisions, manages the workforce and. manages time wisely in order to achieve maximum performance results. The DM oversees recruiting, training, management, budget compliance, and overall operations in stores to ensure excellent customer service, high quality foods, people development, food safety, store cleanliness, and maximum profitability.

Principal Duties and Responsibilities:

  • Implement strategy to maintain operational excellent and consistency in store cleanliness, customer service, food safety, merchandising and replenishment.
  • Maintain and drive high standards and expectations around food quality, customer service, food safety and store cleanliness by empowering teams in every store in their designated district.
  • Manage sales and operations of multiple units.
  • Oversee marketing execution and merchandising plans.
  • Work with both vendors and Store Managers to ensure all sites within the area are clean, adequately stocked, organized and we!l kept, in order to provide a positive customer experience.
  • Collaborate with Store Managers regarding store conditions and expectations, while holding management and team members accountable.
  • Maintain a high level of customer service through daily interactions with customers, team members, vendors and the Store Support Center.
  • Recruit, hire, train and mentor the management staff for the assigned area.
  • Oversee adherence to all Food Service Program procedures and standards, ensuring the successful daily operations and sanitation requirements of the program at each location.
  • Administer company policies and develop short and long range goals and objectives
  • Control expenses and oversee payroll budgets.
  • Review and influence the profit and loss statement.
  • Manage employee relations issues, along with the guidance of the Human Resources Department.
  • Serve as a key player in loss prevention, internal theft and inventory shrink.
  • Administer budgets and track progress at the district and store level.
  • Ensure a pleasant shopping experience for all customers, respond to customer complaints and inquires and lead by example.
  • Motivate, encourage and challenge all store employees.
  • Appropriately delegate tasks to Store Managers an following-up as necessary.
  • Complete daily paperwork and computer entry in a timely manner as established by management.
  • Ensure execution of the safety, security and retail operations policies and procedures.
  • Analyze results and trends in store business and develop action plans to improve store performance.
  • Monitor competition in all areas of the company, including fuel and inside sales.
  • Promote future growth by executing company strategies.
  • Effectively communicate company strategies and initiatives to Store Managers and store employees.
  • Communicate any store issues to the appropriate channels within the Store Support Center.
  • Assume responsibility for special assignments and projects as needed.

Qualifications


Minimum Knowledge, Skills and Abilities:

  • High School Diploma or equivalent required
  • Bachelor's Degree in business or management related field preferred -will consider 3-5 years retail management experience, in lieu of a 4-year degree
  • Convenience store or multi-unit management experience preferred a Food Service experience required, preferably at the managerial level a ServSafe certified and Certified Food Handler for specified areas
  • 3-5 years of experience supervising others required, preferably in the convenience store, fast food, restaurant or retail operations field
  • Must have a valid driver's license and clean driving record
  • Successful completion of store training
  • Must be at least 18 years old
  • Computer literate with experience in Microsoft Office, including Word, Excel and Power Point
  • Strong focus on customer service and working with people
  • Strong commitment to teamwork
  • Strong leadership, team building and managerial skills
  • Strong communication skills, with the ability to effectively communicate with employees, customers and vendors
  • Strong analytical and organizational skills, detail oriented
  • Ethical, honest, trustworthy, respectful, compassionate, supportive and patient
  • Flexible and adaptable to change
  • Ability to handle difficult situations professionally
  • Ability to lift up to 50 lbs.
  • Ability to be on call, work all shifts, weekends and holidays as needed by the business 1 as well as work the site alone, as required.
