Carpenter & Paterson is Hiring an Accounting/Collections Clerk Near Westwego, LA

Carpenter & Paterson, Inc. is currently hiring for a full-time Accounting/Collections Clerk to work on-site at our Waggaman, LA location. The Collections Clerk assists the accounting department to ensure efficient, timely, and accurate payment of accounts.

Essential Duties:

Follow up on, collect, and allocate payments.
Carry out billing, collection, and reporting activities according to specific deadlines.
Perform account reconciliations.
Monitor customer account details for non-payments, delayed payments, and other irregularities.
Investigate and resolve customer queries.
Develop a recovery system and initiate collection efforts.
Communicate with customers via phone, email, mail or personally.
Assist with reception duties such as: answering phones, greeting guests, mail distribution, and filling/sorting.
Other duties as assigned.

Days/Shift:

On-site: Monday thru Thursday 8:00am - 5:00pm & Friday 8:00am – 2:30pm

Ideal Candidate:

Has knowledge of general accounting and bookkeeping procedures.
Has previous AS400 experience.
1-3 years clerical accounting experience.
Comfortable with speaking with customers in regards to outstanding invoices.
Is organized, able to prioritize, and shows good judgment.
Has excellent communication and customer service skills. Have strong computer software skills, ability to learn applications quickly.
Team player mentality a must; communication, collaboration, and motivation to follow through critical.
Be able to work quickly and efficiently without constant supervision.
