Dynamic Motion Control (New York, NY) seeks an Embedded Project Engineer to develop custom applications and embedded firmware solutions for clients in a wide range of industry sectors using technologies and platforms including Typescript, React, .NET, C#, Python, SQL, C, C , Mbed RTOS, and FreeRTOS, to lead project consulting teams, and to develop strategies for implementation. Specific duties include: program and develop firmware for a variety of embedded systems using C, C , Java, Assembly, etc. (15%); embedded system design, such as board design/circuit design, component/platform selection, etc. (8%); embedded system development including, but not limited to, consumer product development and business product development, embedded vision systems, and IoT connected devices (8%); collaborate with varying project teams of different sizes and experience levels (1%); assist senior engineers in scoping, estimating, and proposing new projects (2%); work with project teams to manage and complete tasks by prioritizing needs and understanding risks and roadblocks (5%); develop and grow leadership skills (2%); develop and maintain position relationships with customers and stakeholders while collaborating and responding to requests (20%); seek, identify, and discuss new opportunities with existing clients (22%); conduct sales and bring in new customers (10%); and coordinate product rollout and create product lifestyle knowledge (7%). Must take and pass coding and engineering proficiency test. Occasional travel required within the U.S. Option to work remotely within the U.S. with required to travel to our company's local office 50% of the time.
Position requires a Bachelor's degree, or foreign equivalent, in Computer Science, or a closely related field of study, plus 2 years of experience in the job offered, or as a System Engineer, Teaching Instructor, Teaching Assistant, Software Engineering Intern, or similar engineering, software developer or computer programmer position. Must have experience and/or university level coursework with each of the following: Visual Studio Code, Visual Studio, Ozone, Altium and SolidWorks; multiple coding languages, such as C, C , Java, and Assembly. Specific experience must also include: communicating with the customer about project needs and restrictions; working with project coordinators to verify budget constraints through the entire project; managing a project team that includes both senior and junior engineers and learning to utilize team member's skills to their best ability; working with customer and team to determine testing requirements for final project roll out; switching between multiple projects simultaneously; communicating verbally and through written mediums for internal and external purposes; and training and guiding newer engineers in their work on projects.
